I've been wondering do you think if someone offered enough reddit Gold we could get Cody Beck to do an AMA? (self.zoophilia)

I really like the article on the kid and wondered how he was doing post self outting?

Article here: http://www.browardpalmbeach.com/2009-08-20/news/those-who-practice-bestiality-say-they-re-part-of-the-next-gay-rights-movement/

Good question, good topic.

The guy seems nice, the article seems alright, too.

But we should probably do it in the closed /r/zoogold.

GM3d6 2 points on 2014-04-14 03:59:22

Doing it in the closed /r/zoogold defeats the purpose of normalizing it.

sollemi 1 point on 2014-04-14 08:03:42

yeah, but the last AMA went totally as expected, imho.

The casual on _Romeo, myself and others did came out well.

sollemi 2 points on 2014-04-14 12:19:22

Overall yes, except for one "crazy" person trying to start a huge internet campaign after stumbling upon it. I hate how that happens pretty much every week or so.

Just saying perhaps we could have a peaceful get-to-know each other once in a while, not everything must double as furthering the cause.

GM3d6 2 points on 2014-04-14 15:20:09

I get and respect that

sollemi 1 point on 2014-04-14 17:46:50

Thx, I think the /r/zoophilia is one of the most civilized subreddits there are. Have you seen my /r/finehorses? - Just in case you like those?

pinkstray 1 point on 2014-04-16 15:36:40

Seconded.

I don't recommend idolizing him. He's a pedophile and confessed that he is really fighting the urge to molest his 6yo. (should be 8yo. now) cousin. He's even confessed plans to do it and that is when I broke off contact with him about 2 years ago. I used to be his friend for a few years. The last thing this community needs is to look up to a potential child molester.

Two things 1. Where did you get this info? I mean if your just willing to spread it on Reddit and he apparently told you in confidence then that make me either doubt your credibility or doubt his choice in confidants.

  1. Why not just state that he was 'not someone who we should look up to' and kept his dirty laundry (if true) out of the mix?
TheEthicalZoo 3 points on 2014-04-15 02:46:18

Me and cody have been online friends for about 5-6 years up until 2 years ago when he started coming to me because he was having personal problems regarding him wanting to molest his cousin. I panicked and I couldn't help him because I'm not a pedo, so I have no idea how to deal with pedo issues and he thought that because I was zoo, that I'd be OK with him being a pedo. I was working under a different alias at the time and we were both very active in the zoo community at the time. That's how he found me in the first place.

I really don't mean to air people's dirty laundry for the sake of airing it. I had nothing against him before he alerted me of what his issues were and have no reason to bad mouth him if it weren't for the fact that zoos seem to look up to him and I question that because really? Who wants to be OK with child molestation and who wants to associate our community with such? Whether you yourself choose to believe what I say is not my problem, I'm just providing a potential warning is all.

Why should I leave the child molestation out of the mix? Do you believe child molesters or people who plan on molesting children should have a right to privacy? I certainly don't. I don't think people who harm others should have a right to privacy when it comes to publicly stating what they did wrong. journalism wouldn't ever exist without such a action.

Ok. Then who would you recommend?

So you don't have anyone either? Hmmm. Seems like the options on out and open people is limited.

pinkstray 1 point on 2014-04-16 03:42:48

A major problem is that those who are partnered feel they have much to lose by being public. Who hasn't heard stories of animals being euthanized because they were 'assaulted' much less the humans themselves being ostracized or worse. When you care for your animal partner, your goal is their welfare and well-being. Introducing human political dynamics is just out of scope.

Gay partners have the benefit of 2 adults advocating the issue. Zoo relations start with a 50% cut of that advantage. More-so, their relations are tied to their human for guidance and direction, there's no independent advocacy possible.

GM3d6 1 point on 2014-04-16 03:47:41

I understand but my aim isn't so much as to make people like it but to make it harmless enough to mundanes that morality laws will eventually get removed about it. In some state people can do horrible things to animals and no one bats an eye but talk about Zoophilia and then people want to get on a moral high horse.

I'm sure there are some good lessons to learn from those from ZETA who came out and how they did it... Will have to look deeper into this.

Yes. I would be pretty mindful about managing the message. It would be easy to lose control so contingencies would have to be thoroughly covered in advance. I myself am mostly out so know most of the issues involved. I am lucky in having a force of personality that leads to quick responses that are generally positive or in worst cases, lets not talk about it. I"m also middle aged so it's hard won experience.

TheEthicalZoo 1 point on 2014-04-15 21:43:49

Whoever wants the community to grow for the sake of growth and someone who cares about ethics/consent. I'm in no position to tell anyone how to live their lives, all I can do is try to be ethical to the best of my knowledge because I have hope for our future as a community and I'm not about to start letting people kill that dream by fucking it up with one of the biggest reasons why we are so hated as a community in the first place.

People want to know that we are not rapists or psychos. I do my best to not become that image/stereotype and I wish others could see why that could be beneficial for us. That is the very reason why I made that post. I couldn't forgive myself if I hadn't.

GM3d6 1 point on 2014-04-15 22:34:00

So. Why don't you do an AMA? You seem like a an intelligent person and you seem pretty knowledgeable about the community.
