New moderation and ground rules (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2014-07-14 06:33:27 by [deleted]

Most of you should have noticed the new sidebar - it features a few new rules that I would like you all to take into account. Fortunately, it shouldn't impact many, if any, of you, as I have tried my best to work around what already is.

In case you are wondering, I am here because the other mods have chosen to place their priorities elsewhere, be that with the upkeep of knotty, work or other private endeavours. As most of you should have realised, this subreddit has gone without proper upkeep/moderation for a rather long time (longer than many of you have been submitting here), and I hope you can come to terms with having me around.

I do not intend on removing old posts, but I will also say that the past is in the past. Rest assured, I will not scour the subreddit for violations of rules prior to their introduction. I will ensure I consider new posts neutrally and without personal emotion, and any moderation decisions I make can be contested, so there is no reason to change your posting habits unless you feel you should. If I think something is a bad practice, I will let you know, especially in regard to sharing of personal information. Also, keep in mind that the universal rules of reddit apply.

If any of you are wondering why a change was necessary, it is important to realise that /r/zoophilia is very much an information gateway to the world of zoophilia. It is more than a zoophile hub; it is where many find information, and it is imperative that we portray ourselves in a positive light to the outside world. While opinions vary throughout the zoo community on whether or not zoos should work towards acceptance, it would be hard to argue that an unruly, unkempt subreddit is good for anyone.

If you have any questions, comments, etc., please feel free to ask/tell. I want to know what you like and what you don't, and hopefully we can hold this subreddit together in a transparent and cooperative fashion.

Cheers

Can we have a rather high note in the sidebatr telling people to search their question first? Every week at least someone asks why their dog doesn't lick them when they randomly whipped out their dick and if they should put peanut butter on it.

Sounds good to me.

Yeah. I can get behind this. I particularly like the distinction between zoo related topics and porn. There's other subeditts for that.
