Favorite Dog Breed? (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2014-08-14 15:45:50 by [deleted]

Cynophiles unite! What's your favorite dog breed and why?

I'll start. My favorite breed is the Saint Bernard. I love large dogs, and something about that powerful jawline and thick layer of fur just does me in. I'd let myself get trapped in the snow if it meant getting rescued by one of these hunks.

Your turn!

German Shepard.

Pitbulls

[deleted] 2 points on 2014-08-16 19:14:17

You were downvoted, and that's silly - this is subjective! Pits are awesome, lovable, and handsome. Not to mention sexually powerful and adept, lol

Tundrovyy-Volk Canidae 1 point on 2014-08-17 21:15:15

Fairly sure that they were downvoted because they didn't explain why they liked the breed, as bigolepaws asked in the question.

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-18 00:58:13

That makes perfect sense, but I don't think that is the reason.

THE_wobbler 9 points on 2014-08-14 18:07:14

German Shepherds...Ive had four of them..Two males and two females. They are everything a dog should be.

Tundrovyy-Volk Canidae 5 points on 2014-08-14 20:57:46

Border Collie.

Their fur always looks, feels and smells fantastic, their intelligence is as inspiring as it is sexy, and their grace is unparalleled, with such finesse of movement. Wuf.

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-16 20:46:02

Your description makes me want to run out and find one. Immediately. Wuf, indeed.

I didnt realise german sheps were so popular! another vote for them here. fantastic dogs.

wright-one ursidae canidae pantherinae 1 point on 2014-08-15 18:06:24

so hard to pick just one... i'm most attracted to anything that looks wolf-like, really - huskies, malamutes.. german shepherds aren't quite as wolf-like, but have those nice pointed ears. there are newer/less common (in the US anyway) breeds, like kangal hound, anatolian shepherd, etc. that i also find very attractive. basically anything huge, soft and svelte. :)

realistically, however, i don't think i could handle a dog with that much energy... danes and mastiffs are more my speed in that regard.

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-16 05:18:02

They're certainly MY speed ;)

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-16 05:24:09

Wow! Lots of GSD fans around here! I am totally okay with that! They seem to be the Clark Gables of the dog world.

Irish Wolfhound

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-16 20:44:36

Such gorgeous dogs. I actually started writing a little story about one recently. Ha!

[deleted] 2 points on 2014-08-16 19:51:00

Many - it'd probably be easier to say which I'm not especially fond of.

But to answer the Q, I'll start with the ones I Know. Biblically, haha

German Sheps - wonderful fur, so happy and willing to mount and hump (if they're healthy and not overbred - the sloping back and rear legs due to breeding for show can make it a huge hassle)

Labs are awesome - enthusiastic and fun - and so neat and tidy! No extra long fur on the sheath like Goldens have. Great dogs all around, aside from all the damn shedding...

Rhodesian Ridgebacks - Tight, tall, beautiful, powerful. Gigantic knots, though it might just be my modest sample size, lol

Standard Poodles - Fun, smart, and energetic. No shedding! haha... the base of the knot seems really thin, but again it might be my sample size

Rotties - nearly perfect, for regular people and zoos. Handsome, strong, motivated and yet relaxed. Great companion. Again, sexually powerful. Almost unflaggingly* jolly.

Huskies (pure)** - Just beauty. Intensity. Intelligence that without direction can definitely be a fault.

Doberman - see Rhodesian, then add focus

Vizslas - more fun, smart and attractive version of Weimeraners, lol..

Pitties - Powerful and lusty, like fucking a weightlifter. Ripped and muscular everything. Great package all around - wonderful dogs. Staffies in particular have almost-too-short legs though. And BSL's are a pain for ownership, depending on your location.

Bernese Mtn Dogs (aka Berners) - great big lovey warm fuzzy softness. Big everything. Downside: SO. MUCH. FUR.

Mutts - don't forget about these guys! It doesn't make sense for me to write a description because they can literally be anything, but if you're lucky enough to be able to find an intact mutt you like, you're quite lucky indeed (meaning ADOPT! Save their life and make the world a better place!)

"Great" Danes - in my experience, though they're super friendly (usually- a bad person can break a dog's good spirit, unfortunately) and super well-endowed, obviously lol, their innate/inbred lankiness makes them super gawky and maladroit at sex. They live an abbreviated and expensive life, the last year or five in pain, riddled with arthritis, dysplasia, GI issues, bone cancer, andandandand

WISH LIST!

Akita - Just... woof

Corso - I'm smitten with bully breeds and Molossus types

Leonberger

*I didn't want to say "incessantly"

**experiences with a husky/malamute/lab(?) were some of the best I've ever had

WOW.

Mysic, words cannot describe how envious I am of your incredible and vibrant sex life. I've never heard from anyone online who's rolled in the hay with a Bernese Mountain Dog before. They're so sexy!

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-16 21:28:26

They are, aren't they... I love 'em

Brunauss 2 points on 2014-08-22 19:51:15

I have to side with you on this subject and agree Mystic. I too have had experience with all ones listed. I would like to add one more however. Great Pyrenees. Absolutely gorgeous to look at, sitting still or running. this breed is just as loyal as any Lab. The fur is so wonderful to feel against the bare skin. It also is useful in off setting food costs by keeping it in good condition and brushing it off, to ship to sweater factories. They are also great lovers and will actually stay on you back, once you show them its OK to do so. Their entire body frame is same size and weight as a Saint Bernard, as well as the male equipment: shaft length thickness, knot size and scrotum area.

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-23 06:51:59

Well, seems like i found myself another connoisseur! Want to develop a breed rating site for zoos!? With all the pertinent and necessary specifics!

Oh, another bonus for G Pyrenees: they seem to have less ridiculous over breeding issues than the Saints, probably because there have been no pyrenees "Beethoven"...

TheNewDawn7 1 point on 2014-08-28 16:08:14

This is the best post I've ever read.

I also second everything you say about Huskies

[deleted] 0 points on 2014-08-29 01:21:18

Hey thanks! I've had a fair share of fun with my furry buddies.

Huskies are an awesome devious set, lol...

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-16 21:24:02

Edited my post for thoroughness

danpetman 2 points on 2014-08-17 21:19:54

Another vote for German Shepherds here. They're so handsome and noble and just wolfy enough. Combine that with their excellent temperament and trainability and you've got the perfect dog. Huskies get an honourable mention since they're just beautiful, but I've heard they don't make the best pets.

Pawwsies Big Ol' Canines 2 points on 2014-08-18 05:48:42

I've never had any dog as a mate, but my favorite are Belgian Malinois. They're so fast, and powerful. Their fur smells so nice, and they're just so beautiful. Malamutes are very beautiful as well, so are huskies. Labs are nice too.

EDIT: My aunt has a Belgian, and I've spent a lot of time dogsitting her, so that's how I've become infatuated with the breed.

[deleted] 1 point on 2014-08-19 05:12:48

Never heard of them before, so I Googled and... OMG. GORGEOUS. THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING THIS TO MY LIFE.

Pawwsies Big Ol' Canines 1 point on 2014-08-21 03:01:46

They're amazing, for sure. The single best thing is how good their fur smells though, they never have that "doggish" smell, though I don't mind that much. You've gotta meet one, haha.

TheNewDawn7 2 points on 2014-08-19 11:26:52

Siberian huskies, their eyes make me melt

Zind0 0 points on 2014-08-21 23:12:55

I love male huskys because they got that bulge in their knot but their penis is so clear (pinkish) and smooth..

duskwuff 1 point on 2014-08-24 01:46:22

That's not unique to huskies… every male dog fits that description.

Zind0 1 point on 2014-08-25 00:40:44

Thanks for the clarification ^^

BlaqkWolf 2 points on 2014-08-26 03:01:32

Newfoundlands are definitely my favorites. I'm a sucker for gentle giants. They're just so sweet and goofy. Remarkably intelligent and so mellow. Perfect breed for me.
