Despite the smothering love I receive from my parents, I'm ready for some freedom. I already have ideas about what kinds of animals I want, but I have some obstructions.
- Make a fail-safe career plan for moving out (of my parents' house)
- Moving out on minimum wage (30 hours/week)
- Calculating how much to save
- Determining what I need to survive
- Secure my obscene possessions
- Make more friends in the furry fandom
- Go to at least one sci-fi/fantasy convention
My parents are the lonely old people type. I'm technically not kept prisoner, but whenever I ask, they reply, "Why do you want to move out?"
Even just having 10 minutes alone with any horse without fear of cameras or someone saying "out of the horses stall when he's eating" even when he is your horse that you are spending over 20% of your income on, and always pay the monthly board before its due, and you are not even touching him.
This is the status of a police state. You can't do shit anymore.
If you gave me money to buy a car and I said, "Sorry, you are not allowed to use it," what would you think? Wouldn't you be fucking pissed off?
I would just say, "Sorry, I have better uses for my money. You're on your own."

Become vegan. I can't stand eating meat knowing what that animal went through.
Lacto-vegetarian isn't so bad. I hate factory dairy farms though.

How are dairy farmers who don't do this stuff profitable?
I see many people recommend daiya products as a replacement but I have actually never tried them.
I think I'm going to start out with a vegetarian diet and work to vegan from there.

Try to get in better shape (even though that's like everyone's new year's resolution) since I'm doing mentally better now and also get my dog in shape with me!! She's getting a little chubby.
I'm going to actually commit to my studies, as opposed to doing the bare minimum and barely passing each semester.
Interestingly enough, that wasn't a recycled resolution.

Graduate college.
Once graduated, move out of my parents' house. I like my parents, but they're the type who always walk into my room to say hi and see what I'm doing - doors are always open in our house. I want privacy and independence.
In between graduation and starting my job, go on a long vacation. Europe, Asia, national parks, Canada, anywhere really. I just want to go somewhere far away with one or two friends and make some new experiences.
Learn how to ride and care for horses.
Make and keep some good exercise habits. I run, but I'm also skinny as crap. I want to actually have muscles.
Like you, make some friends in the furry (or pony) fandom.
Also like you, go to one or more conventions and see how I like it. I've got one planned this year already.
Finish my website and finally start drawing the webcomic I've always wanted to draw.
Meet women and find an SO who, at the very least, is cool with my interest in furry art.

@sweatysmellyhorse, It sounds like the barn owner is trying to have her cake and eat it too. The only thing you can do to people who try to get their way by being crazy like that is leave them in the dust. I mean, if you can't even load up a horse in a trailer or visit while they are eating without a pain, I don't care what else is going on, move. Life is far to short for crazy like that.

Wolves are my favourite, but obviously I can't really own a wolf, so only for looking >.< Huskies, malamutes, white shepherds, border collies (esp blue merles) are some of my favourite domestic dogs (:
having a wolf isnt that far fetched. There are definitely people who own wolfdogs and I've spoken to a few zoos on zoophiles forum that have them. There are for sure some considerations to take into account when considering a wolfy canine but its not as far fetched as say, owning a bear/lion or something like that. I dont think theyre for novice or even amature dog owners though but I'll ask next time I talk to the person who owns one.
I agree on the other dogs though, they're beauts :3 (except collies, all the ones ive met have been really highly strung...)
Having a wolf or wolf hybrid is impossible where I am, we don't even have any in zoos. And besides, I'm not even sure I'm into the idea of keeping a wild animal as a "pet". Unless I had some sort of sanctuary, they have a lot of requirements and I haven't even owned a regular dog of my own >.<
Really just to finish my undergrad. I already have a well-paying job lined up, but I still need to find a place to live. I want to get a dog, but probably won't be able to in good conscience-I'll be working at least 40 hours, plus I won't have a nice yard or anything. Maybe a few years down the road...
Congrats on having a job lined up already, thats gotta feel pretty good?! I feel you when it comes to the doggy responsibility though. im still trying to figure out how to incorporate a dog into my working life. its tough.
Just doing some "pruning". If I were to something sexual with a horse. cleaning their dirty genitals would be enough.
