Another health 24 article, this one mostly trash.

Usual tropes of zoonosis, penile cancer and how all the dogs are gonna be raped. Even quotes daily mail as a source.

I laugh at the "penile cancer" crap. Scare tactics....

The size of the community, and thus the demand, has even led to the formation of so-called “bestiality brothels", especially in countries where the practice has been recently outlawed. The Daily Mail brought the issue to light in 2013 after a slew of such brothels were rumoured to exist in Germany, though institutions of this nature are likely to maintain a low profile given their illegality. Such buildings host an array of animals, with which paying visitors can engage in intercourse away from the eyes of the law.

The Daily Mail quoted an anti-zoo activist, with no evidence given by anyone for the existence of a single animal brothel in Germany. The incident mentioned in that Daily Mail article had nothing to do with animal brothels; it was a group of idiotic fence-hoppers, who should be prosecuted for trespassing and also conceivably for animal cruelty if a causal relationship were established between their actions and the standoffishness of these sheep.

Here's my challenge to the people claiming the existence, presently, of animal brothels: show me one which has been in operation in the last twenty years in Western Europe or the United States (presumably an easy task given how rampant they are alleged to be), and then explain how existing laws against animal cruelty and/or prostitution do not already make it illegal.

Or a more direct question: (actual!) Animal rights activists do undercover investigations of animal cruelty all the time. Why is there no such investigation of an "animal brothel"? The claims of animal cruelty in these alleged places keeps getting repeated. Wouldn't this be interesting to investigate?

Absolutely. The media would love to uncover something like this. Especially if there's some political figure involved.

gettin sick of stupid articles like these. not saying they shouldn't be brought to everybody's attention, it's appreciated. i'm just sick of the fact that they're being written.

I agree. I alwasy hope someone with a throw away FB account might put some comments on them, but <shrug> this is the exact type of press we should expect until something changes. To be completely honest, in the last year we have received far more positive or neutral press than I'd ever have expected.
