I'm really keen to talk to a pyromaniac and a zoophile who is in a relationship with a dog. I'd also love to talk to someone who identifies as a "feeder." However, I think number one on the list for now is a blind anorexic -- I'm fascinated by that...
Not the most flattering line of people one could be in, but better than nothing?
I don't want to compromise the privacy of my anonymous subjects so I can't go into too much detail but as a general rule of thumb I always ask for documentary evidence (a diagnosis from a medical professional, photographs, a history of thinking/writing about the issue, etc...) And I go looking for them, which I think is key.

Well, she is exposing the marginalized, shuned and neglected...

Wow, that's pretty cool about it getting printed! Do you mean in the print edition of the magazine or?
She seems like a very professional, respectful person, and that's a huge deal to me anyway when it comes to zoo articles. I'd love to see more zoo interviews from her sometime. Or maybe even being the subject of one, hey? :P

Check the other link in the sub, the one that links to "Atypical" in NYMAG. They say which issue there. It has been out for 15 days now, I believe?
