Very nice. Won't exactly "count" to an outside audience, since it's self-reported with sampling bias out the butt. But assuming we trust the responses, it may give a decent baseline for further study.

It's kind of a test run for now to figure out what questions should be asked, how to help with the selection bias, and some baseline information to propose more specific questions and hypothesis.

Won't be able to trust the data coming from this.

Are we gonna see the results?
zootrashcandoggy doodle dandy 1 point on 2015-03-21 21:54:57
Yes, I do plan on publishing the results as well as a short write up after a month.

Good stuff. Any reason for doing this?

There isn't much research out there on the effects it has on animals, so I figured why not do it myself?

Fair enough. The questions seem pretty detailed, do you have a background in this sort of thing?
Sorry for the grilling, Im still feeling a bit used from the last zoo survey that had like 400 responses and yet we saw no results in return.

I don't have a background. I'm studying biology in college and read about animal health and psychology for fun, but this is the first survey I've done on my own.

The results from the last survey are still being processed and organized. You'll still get to see them, don't worry.

Heh, I was starting to lose hope. Fair enough though, I'll keep being excited.

Yeah lol sorry for the wait, some stuff came up in real life and going through the results took longer than expected. (I'm not the zoo that did the survey btw, but I talk to him regularly.)
Thanks for this.
