Everything went better than expected! (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2015-03-23 20:51:30 by Swibblestein

So... I'm taking a Human Sexuality class. We have a research project to, with certain restrictions and whatnot. I wasn't sure if the topic of zoophilia, my preferred topic, would be acceptable to the teacher, so I decided to go in in her office hour and talk with her.

Things went well.

The topic is okay to do the project on. She even gave me extra leeway for what sort of papers I can use.

But that's just the beginning.

She expressed an interest in helping me actually submit something to a peer reviewed publication. The Journal of Sex Research, perhaps.

But that's not all either.

She expressed an interest in helping me become a speaker at a sexology conference. Specifically, she advised me towards the SSSS's conference.

But that's still not all!

She also made an offer to help me do original research. Basically, she would let me use her classes for gathering information. So if, for instance, I wanted to do an anonymous survey, she'd get those surveys to her students, to at least get some concrete data on zoophilia.

And as if that wasn't enough...

She also gave me a very, very nice compliment about how much I contribute to the class and how much she appreciates my input.

Nice work, I hope everything will turn out well and I can't wait for the results. Good luck!

Awesome, I missed my chance when I was twenty to do research work on the sociology of deviancy. I seriously wish you a great deal of success.

Thank you very much for your efforts towards an academic analysis of zoophilia. Although little, what assistance i can offer will be yours.

I appreciate the sentiment.

As it stands, I have a bunch of ideas for things to address. Too many than could go into a single paper. I might post some of the more interesting ones at some point or another to this board, just to see what people think of them.

You also have a wealth of firsthand knowledge in this community, and im sure many would be willing to help. Best of luck.

Awesome. Keep it up. I've been doing the topic for English 101 essays (my professor is a little odd, so it seems alright so far). Feel free to ask the community here about anything, and I'm sure they'll help you (myself included, of course).

I remember doing essays for my philosophy class. The TA was a utilitarian and really had no come back except.... "I'm tired of reading this, if you 're going to continue I'm going to report you." I asked her for what exactly, arguing circles around the TA? I got As on those essays and the course... hehe....

Hehe... kinda helps when Peter Singer (practically King Utilitarian now) agrees with you. But the only moral philosophies I've found where a taboo against bestiality is unarguably wrong are absolutist ones (and maybe some absolutists pretending to be deontologists).

I'm happy to see legitimate philosophical conversation here. That is all.

I have done a little bit of speaking out on the philosophy of zoophilia, and I can say that I would love to be able to help you by means of giving information, if something like an interview were appropriate for the paper.

Regardless, if I can be any bit of help to you, you have me at your disposal. PM me if you want to discuss anything :D.

Thanks for writing about us and good luck!

Discussion is fun, but as far as the paper goes, keep in mind that accepting self-nominations from individuals on the internet tends not to be a very sound methodology.

But, if I do happen to need anything, I will keep you all in mind, and I do appreciate the offers.

Of course :P. This is a professional journal(and homework assignment) and not some casual article XD

Nonetheless...

Congratulations, I hope the progression goes well for you. Sometimes life gives us happy surprises, it is important to hold onto those, and our human brains like to focus on the negative all to much it seems.

This is all really great! It would be awesome to get something published! I would say go for it. Might I ask if you are an undergrad or graduate student? I'm a PhD drop out myself.
