How do you differentiate between strong friendship and romance? (self.zoophilia)

I ask, because I am currently on a fence with my beloved feline companion. So give me your personal thoughts. <3

Do you want to make love to your cat? If yes, it's romance. If no, it's strong friendship.

But please don't make love to your cat. It's definitely not fine too.

Sex doesn't equal romance, though... so making love to my cat is irrelevant?

Well, depends what you plan on doing really. I've definitely heard of tomcats enjoying oral sex.

I have too. I have heard cats, in a general sense, can be "tricky" or just not very interested in sex, unless we bring up females in heat. My cat certainly has no desire and never has.

Apparently it's common outside of zoophilia to masturbate cats in heat through various means. Pressing next to the tail, rubbing or tapping the outside of the vulva, internal stimulation from a Q-tip or finger, and probably more I haven't heard of. They don't do it out of love though, they just do it because they find cats in heat annoying.

Well that's... okay then. o.O Personally, I think it's funny when cats are in heat, but then again, excessive meowing doesn't bother me.

Yeah, I don't get it either. But meh, the cats seem to like it, so whatever. It's hilarious though when people try to claim it isn't cat masturbation.

A few videos have been posted on reddit about it too.

This one for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkjGC8PISuI

and I think this one too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nwhoESzAMU

And there's a lot more on youtube.

O_o non-zoos do such weird things to animals

Nah, wanting sex with someone isn't the same as romance. I'm largely asexual towards humans, but I still am in love with my human partner.

I personally find love to be more of an intense emotion and a bit more of an, idk, almost addiction of sorts. I can go without talking to my friends, but if I can't talk to my partner, I start to get distressed and worry.

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone in that one!

You could try asking yourself what you would do with a romantic interest that you wouldn't do with a friend? Snuggle, cuddle, go to romantic movies??

This is true. :0

I draw the line at an erection. Do you or your loved one get an erection? If so I think there is a romance going on.
