Can Money Buy Happiness for a zoo? (self.zoophilia)

Horses are expensive to own (I had one for about 6 months before bankrupting me). Does this mean money can buy happiness? Why or Why Not?

Horses are expensive yes. I could very easily spend a monthly mortgage payment on her, or two. Easier to own a small piece of land to help reduce expenses. Some areas have better prospects than others so moving is an option.

My best advice, for happiness, avoid excuses and plan. Decide and make happen. We make choices every day, make the ones that work your plan.

Edit:spelt gud

Yes I want to own my own land instead of over paying a public boarding stable to do everything for me.

I think having passion, drive, and the motivation needed to achieve your goals will bring you more happiness than money alone. Horses are very expensive, but if they are your world you will do everything in your power to support that kind of lifestyle. Having the money required to keep my horses happy, healthy, and well cared for brings me happyiness.

Thanks again for the advice. I might have some money coming my way soon.

Sorry to hear about the financial issues :(

Money even for a zoo, is a means to an end.

Money buys the means of happiness, not happiness itself.

It is a reality of the capitalist world that it is better to have money than not have it, and "more money more problems" can be touted insofar as you have adequate funds.

In other words, money will facilitate happiness up until the point where a want is realised. Additional money will not make that want (eg. horse ownership) any more satisfying, but reduced money will jeopardise it.

As such, we as zoos in a capitalist world need to strive to make enough money to buy and support the animals we love. It is time, effort and care that make happiness; money simply makes those available.

As other have said in a more elegant fashion, money is a means. Money didn't buy you the happiness, it merely supports the path of it. Money buys food, land, and good health for us and our animal companions. And yes, money can buy the animal, but effort creates the bond that brings the joy.
