Anonymous Survey about Pedophilia, Zoophilia and Necrophilia (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2015-04-29 18:16:45 by Nevlamas

If any of you ladies and gentlemen happen to be either pedophiles, zoophiles or necrophiles and have the time to help out a poor student, answering this anonymous survey would be much appreciated.

It shouldn't take too long, can help psychology understanding paraphilias - and stop treating paraphiles like some kind of monsters - and would help me out a lot. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for the survey. Can you post the results after it closes?

I will try to, given that it will motivate enough participants to be worth anything

It's nice to see an interest from the world of academia, but if it's not out of line, I would like to offer a word of concern about your questions.

I understand the desire for easily digestible data, especially in the context you're collecting it for. The only trouble is, humans aren't exactly black and white creatures. There are questions on this survey which don't accurately reflect the spectrum of views one might feel on the subjects. I can go over a few examples to explain what I mean.

26) Are you attracted to male animals, female animals or both?

If someone is primarily attracted to male dogs and female horses, and equally attracted to both species, then there's not really an accurate answer for them to choose from. It may seem like a minor point, but ambiguity can lead to skewed data quite easily.

30) Do you prefer acts of fantasies with the animal in a passive or an active role?

Some might switch between the two depending on the context, or have no preference to begin with, or engage in strictly mutual acts. Again, the problem stems from the fact that humans simply aren't binary.

27) If you had to give a reason why you find animals attractive, what would you answer?

I believe this is the best example of what I'm talking about. This should undoubtedly be an open ended question, because asking why inherently signifies some degree of explanation, which could vary greatly between individuals. The provided options may work for some, but if you really want accurate data, you're not going to get it by putting words in people's mouths.

One other thing, while I'm at it; be careful about your sample population. Some here at /r/Zoophilia would be hesitant to say that the folks down at /r/bestiality are actual zoophiles. Arbitrary as it may seem, many of us like to maintain that there's a difference between zoophiles and animal fetishists, and that difference could undoubtedly alter your data if you ignore it.

Again, I do appreciate the effort being made here. I'd just like to make sure that the data reflects us in the most accurate way possible.

As a zoophile myself, I am fully aware. This is actually part of the outer form - or lack thereof - of the survey. This isn't an academical one in the strict sense, it is a formless student survey and intended to be used for illustratory purposes of other studies.

As long as you know what you're doing, and you're not distorting the truth too much, then hey, go for it. I just wanted to make sure that everything is being done in the best way possible, for our benefit and yours.

Thank you both for talking about that. It was one of my concerns as well.

I would also note that solidarity and supporting non-abusing members of any group are not necessarily inclusive. For example, a pedophile who hasn't and won't touch a child deserves support. A zoophile who hurts animals does not. But hard to survey that sorta thing.

Please use a VPN when filling this out. It looks clean but you never know.

We'd love to hear your results, thoughts or opinions.

Agreed, and I would even advocate for using one in general. It's simple, it's free, and considering #OpBeast knows a thing or two about computers, it could be the difference between being safe and being outed.

free

I'm skeptical of free VPN services.

And there are reasons to be. But, if it's between trusting one service or trusting every site, I think it's a decent alternative for those who don't have access to a paid VPN.

No need to be, remember that you are protecting yourself from some random guy on the Internet as opposed to the fuzz. It'll work well enough for that in combination with incognito mode to prevent any cookie leakage.

I also would like to recommend TunnelBear which offers a free limited service perfect for text posts and is anti-logging.

Ah right, my mistake. I figured you were talking about using it as a complete solution for all zoo activities. Carry on.

Naw, you know my stance on porno and the like. While I ain't going to say much against it, I don't need it, want it or have it.

I'd be interested in seeing the results and comparing answers from the three groups, I wonder if any overlap. Best of luck and I hope you get a good number of responses!

I very much enjoyed this survey, the questions aren't too intrusive, yet the presence of multiple more specific answers to yes or no questions i find to be rather helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

Fascinating. It will be interesting to see how much cross-correlation there is.

Nevlamas 1 point on 2015-05-05 07:47:22

A lot, by the looks of it. But this survey didn't distinguish primary (genuine, orientational) from secondary (fetishist) zoophiles, so that was to be expected.

On a related note, the survey is now complete with exactly 400 participants total. Results can be viewed by simply following the link originally posted above.

Very interesting. Do you mind creating another thread with the results so more of us can see it?

I meant if you could create another thread showing the results so more people in this sub can see it. I didn't even know the survey was completed until today when I specifically went searching for it.
