How would you want zoophilia to be remembered? (self.zoophilia)

If there could be one person who could be remembered by all people as the "shining example" for zoophilia philosophy or the best example of a zoophile, what would you like that person to be like and what would you want the philosophy to be?

Why is this getting so many down votes?

Generally when you're talking about how you want something to be remembered, you're implying that it's dead or dying. I think the title gave some folks the wrong idea.

Anyways, I think that my shining example would be somebody who abides by the Zeta principles.

Oops. That certainly wasn't what I meant by it!

Perhaps it's time to tell the sub once more that the downvote button isn't a disagreement button.

Is it sub members downvoting or just people who are against this form of sexual expression?

How something is remembered is really determined by the morals of those doing the remembering. We face a world that doesn't understand this sexual lifestyle, reviles it, and prohibits it. Mainstream society will never remember zoophiles fondly, regardless of how they treat animals.

I would want that person to be committed to their animals' physical, emotional, and sexual wellbeing.

I've been reading Peter Singer's new book on effective altruism (nothing controversial here, just make lots of money and give a lot to the right charities). I think a zoo who conspicuously followed that sort of thing would be great. Someone who made it clear that it's more about others (human or animal) than their own gratification.

As for personal traits... basically the most empathy it is possible for a human being to have would be the biggest part. This means they would have an almost supernatural understanding of other species, and particularly their lovers, backed up by the latest scientific research on animal behavior and health. Other positives might be a willingness to educate people who want to know about it and enough discernment to know where to draw the line with others.

On that first point, thats why it would be so great to have a head organization such as Zeta Verein. You could give donations to various dog shelters (used this as an example) in the name of ZV and zoophiles everywhere which would then be posted on the ZV website. Hopefully they would give some feedback to their thoughts on the donation and its source. eg 'This $500 cheque was sent to Waggy Tails dog rescue in Santa Barbara. They informed us it was put towards a professional photography shoot and in turn wished us good luck with our cause.' or something like that.

Anyway, would be an interesting thing to try. Its hard to be against an organisation thats actually doing some good in the world.

I don't think a "shining example" is even what I'd want.

I'm the example I'd put forward, as flawed as that may be (I wouldn't seriously want to be a figurehead, this is an example). I'm human. I make mistakes. I'm not a saint. I however, would never hurt an animal, and I'd do anything for my partners needs.

I... perhaps have rightfully so, irritated some people in the community. But I don't want to let the idea of an advocacy organization die out. Zeta Verin is a very good one but I think we can do better. We need to present ourselves however not as a fantasy version, but a relatable and completely human group. It's what we are after all: We are flawed, we don't always get along, and we're more different than we are the same to be dead honest. It's part of the reason such an organization is so hard to set up. But we are human. This is to be expected: Humans are varied animals. We need to unite under that banner of differences if anything, and emphasize our humanity. People will relate to that. We aren't perfect. We aren't shining examples of perfection... but we are an abused minority, and we all love animals. That's our only commonality really.

That's how I see it. Hope that made some sense.
