Zoo reference on John Stewart (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2015-05-13 18:15:12 by Pigeondance Birdies yay

Was wondering if any one else watched the Jon Stewart show last night? Not sure if it was a new episode or not but it made an interesting reference to zoophilia. I was watching tv with my friend (non zoo I assume) when they started some joke about some political figure really, reaaaaly liking his dog. There was some sentence like "you fuck your dog??" And the actor impersonating this guy said "No! I would never fuck my dog! I make love to my dog!"

I was shocked. I mean, it's obviously a joke and making fun of zoos, but it was also kind of awesome because I've never seen it talked about in that way in main stream media before.

The icing on the cake is when my friend said "my dog and I touched souls.." He said it mockingly, yet at the same time at least he was thinking about the idea of romantic love between humans and dogs, something beyond just a sexual relationship. I think it's a step in the right direction, introducing the concept that some one would want to have sex with an animal because they love them, not because they can't get a human to have sex with. What do you guys think?

Well and there was also him talking about an actress's dog a few weeks ago. "I wanted this dog to hump my leg." XD

Always glad to see another humorous reference in the media.

I liked Katherine Ryan's appearance on QI, where she explained an apparently not unusual Canadian expression.

I did some background reading hoping to find something to show that maybe it wasnt as jokey as it first seemed. Turns out she just likes saying outlandish things.

They do like dog references over here though. had one of my managers at work use the phrase 'screwed the pooch' in front of me. that caught me way off guard.

LOL, I use that so much. Dogfucking is a general term for not doing the work you're supposed to be. Very Canadian expression apparently.

It must be Canadian because I never heard it in America.

Hmm thanks for sharing about this. I didn't watch the show... It's fun whenever you see something related to zoophilia just popping up in your face in the "real world." I don't know if it really signifies a whole lot in the way of society becoming more accepting, unfortunately. They were probably just doing their usual mocking, sorry!!

Found it myself Skip to 8:00 for all the dog fuckery

Stewart also dares the audience to make an edit to Harding's Wiki page about the skit. All I found on the wiki page here was this media edit:

{The Daily Show, 12 May 2015, Comedy Central.[278] In a section of the show dealing with presidential hopefuls & political dynasties, "The Ghost of Warren Harding" (played by Jordan Klepper) makes an appearance on the show as part of a joke about Jeb Bush running for President being correlated with Harding's relationship with Harding's dog "Laddie Boy".}
