Do you guys think this is a zoo tattoo? (self.zoophilia)

I've seen this girl twice and I am very curious about her tattoo because I think it may be zoo inspired. She has it on her arm and it's a female gender symbol with a paw print inside the circle. I've attached a very rough sketch of what it looked like, of corse it was much cleaner and nicer looking on her(: it's a good sized tattoo, five or six inches long. What do you guys think? I plan on asking her if there's a story behind it if I see her again.

Oh I guess it didn't post the image.. Not sure how to do that :/

You could just ask her what it means, and follow up with a leading statement, laughing and kind of joking like, "Because I know that could mean some pretty different things to different groups of people..."

I don't think it is a zoophilia tattoo per se. Most zoophilia tattoos would feature the Greek letter Zeta.

It's a paw. Could be many things. For example Animal Rights groups like to use paws too.

On the other hand, the female symbol may or may not imply something with sexuality.

Who knows.

It could mean that she's something like a furry. Maybe she feels that she is an animal or is a dog?

Na, that's not a zoo tat.

If it had a greek zeta symbol (ΞΆ), it would be a different story though.

I think that this could possibly mean many different possible things. It could mean things other than zoophilia. It probably doesn't mean zoophilia. Just like others have said, if someone had a tattoo of the Greek zeta symbol.. then that would be a different story.

It could be, but like zoozooz said it could also (probably more likely) mean a lot of other things. My first thought was furry too, but I'm not sure why you'd put a female symbol there too. Maybe lesbian furry? Haha. I hope you can find out the story/meaning behind it, I'm curious now! (Although, if it IS a zoo tattoo, you might not get the real story anyway...)

Just saying though, I don't think I'd say "it's definitely not a zoo tattoo if it doesn't have a Zeta!" Personally, I wouldn't risk getting a tattoo or even wearing anything with a Zeta on it. It's gaining more visibility these days as a zoo symbol, and I'd just be too paranoid. If I get a zoo-related tattoo it'll be a different design, and other folks are probably more "sneaky" with their zoo tattoos too.

I think that tat is a take on girl power, usually seen with a fist in the circle. Perhaps she's proclaiming she's a tough "bitch"?

However the dog paw is an extremely common tat so wouldn't' think anything of it except to offer up my tat with a leading comment that doesn't say anything. Please do chat her up and find out, it might be the start of a great friendship if nothing else.

Paw tattoos are actually quite common in animal welfare, animal care and even veterinary fields. I'm always left wondering when I meet someone with pawprint tattoos, but there are sadly no stronger links between zoos and paw tattoos than anti-zoos and the same tattoos.

The connotation is sexual for me, but I am far from an unbiased observer. Show the sketch to a non-zoo friend, and see what s/he thinks of it! Unless that would make them suspicious... oh bother.

It's probably not a zoo tat, as others have said paw print tattoos are very common. I wouldn't have thought any thing of it if it weren't combined with the female sign, which for me has sexual connotations. I'll definitely ask her if I see her again though (:
