No part of the vividrandomexistence blog is available through Wayback Machine anymore. If you try, it says "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine." Any ideas why this might happen?? I've seen sites that weren't able to be archived, but not one that WAS archived and then for some reason removed.
I'm really disappointed, I should've saved the contents of the site for reference when I had a chance. I thought since it was in the archive it'd be fine and I could still look at it, I guess not. If anyone has any backups or articles or pages or literally anything from that blog and is able to share I'd really appreciate it, that website helped me out a ton when I was first figuring myself out and I've always been meaning to save the text to my resources library. This is a sad day for me.
I also wish that that blog still existed. I wonder why it was removed. I mean I wonder why the author decided to delete it to begin with!
Site owners can opt out of the wayback machine. It's happened before. They'd get hit by legal if it wasn't offered.
As ru444 above said, it is likely the owner removed it. But I guess it could be more sinister. I never paid enough attention to that site when I found it. Very disappointing.
Not to fuel the rumor mill, but the same thing happened when actaeon.org dissapeared many years ago. Someone reregistered the site and placed a robots.txt file there preventing wayback activity.
If this was on a public blog site, it's also very likely a site wide policy and NOT any targeted activity.
It is entirely likely of course the owners did this intentionally, and do not want to be found or remembered. Being zoos, we all know there are a million reasons to justify that kind of dissapearance... I wish them well regardless.
The website does not appear to have a robots.txt.
Very strange.
https://wordpress.com/robots.txt
The parent site does, as suspected.
The site may have had a robots.txt when it was active. Or it may have had meta tags on individual pages blocking indexing.

Here is a link to at least some of the contents of the blog: http://archive.is/stn5R http://archive.is/IWIkW http://archive.is/pp3m http://archive.is/https://vividrandomexistence.wordpress.com
I checked my archive because I was almost completely sure I had at least part of the site saved somewhere. I haven't been able to find it but if I ever do, or am able to get access some other way, I'll PM.
Someone mentioned Actaeon's site... I have a couple of bits and pieces from that, I believe.
Yeah, actaeons still around FWIW... I had a complete mirror once but I lost it over the course of my life's various drama events...
Thanks, lemme know if you ever find it. I'm going to keep digging and messing with the archive to see if I can get some bits and pieces.
I've never even seen the Actaeon site, before my time I suppose. I've only seen people talk about it.
Bah you're not missing much lifechanging, there's bits of history but 95% is just old guys being nostalgic.
I found best way to prevent this regret is stop using bookmarks and use only https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/scrapbook/ and back it up.
Actaeon's site wasn't much special but it was pretty much one of the few prozoo sites around in that era, which was actually more zoo hostile at times than the current climate if you can believe that!
It helped me understand who I was, and for that I thank him. No, it's nothing special by modern standards, but it's what we had then, dagonit. ;)
Normally I'd agree with this but the old guys are fond of it because it helped them grow up too, or at least establish who they were themselves.
I didn't even know his blog was gone! I hadn't checked it in the longest time. Sad news. :(
Apparently the author (of the site) is going to put the content of the site back online in the near future, but the new site will have a different name
