Reddit Quarantining. Do we count as "offensive to the average redditor"? (reddit.zendesk.com)

I'd be very surprised if we were seen as offensive. we're seen as weird maybe, but I wouldnt call us offensive. We dont go around saying we hate anyone.

still good news we survived another round of cuts mind you.

Maikowski2 3 points on 2015-08-06 10:12:34

pedos do not go around hating on people either but.. you know what happened to them.

actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied 3 points on 2015-08-06 10:31:02

true, but it was kiddie porn that got banned, the fact it was simulated is kinda splitting hairs. Bestiality is still legal in some places and being a zoo is a state of mind which as far as I know isnt illegal. Im keeping my fingers crossed we're allowed to stick around. It'd be sad to lose this place.

Thinking about that post we had the other day from the person who posted on suicide watch, who knows how many people are living better lives because of this community. We're more like a support group at the end of the day.

Maikowski2 3 points on 2015-08-06 10:44:03

And pedophilia is kinda legal in some places too. I am not saying /r/zoophilia should be banned, just saying your argument can be turned around very easily. Eitherway, nobody could expect for such subs to go on forever. There wil always be one time where SJW and other "I'm offended" types will get enough of it and start making ultimatums, so admins will start banning such subs.

actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied 3 points on 2015-08-06 10:46:39

fair enough. Yeah its hard to know which way its going to go really.

syzithryx i like cookies 1 point on 2015-08-08 01:46:09

"Being a zoo is a state of mind which as far as I know isn't illegal"

So is pedophilia, the quality of being sexually attracted to minors, which pretty much everyone with it reports they've had for as long as they've been sexually attracted to anything at all, and had absolutely no choice about. It also isn't illegal - child molestation is. People always mix up pedophilia and child molestation, but there is a massive difference, and it is quite possible to be a good person and a pedophile simultaneously: all you have to do is not molest children, which almost none of them do anyway. Essentially thus, they are in the same boat as zoophiles.

actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied 2 points on 2015-08-08 07:27:18

coming to terms with being a zoo gave me more of an understanding of pedophiles, and I agree that being a pedophile isnt solely a bad thing. That said, it wasn't the equivalent board to us (/r/pedophilia?) that got banned.

I guess theyre in the same situation as us, a few bad apples (abusers) spoil it for the rest (zoos/pedophiles).

Essentially thus, they are in the same boat as zoophiles.

I can see where youre coming from, but we've got different destinations.

Yearningmice 1 point on 2015-08-09 15:52:02

I don't believe that group was talk only. While we may get an occasional "guide" here they aren't generally written as hunting guides, more as safety guides.

btwIAMAzoophile Dogs are cute. 1 point on 2015-08-05 22:31:17

I wouldn't think we were either, so long as we keep on top of content that doesn't belong here.

HeartBeatOfTheBeast Hoof and Claw 1 point on 2015-08-06 00:19:38

I don't think we will get quarantined. If we did so would alot of other communities.

Caristinn Captain Esports 6 points on 2015-08-06 00:41:32

To the average Redditor? Probably not. The default subreddits actually seem to swing in favor of zoophiles when an actual discussion comes up.

But Spez conflates the "average Redditor" with "average person." If it was truly subreddits offensive and annoying to the average Redditor that were banned, then subreddits like /r/shitredditsays and /r/againstmensrights would be removed.

ulungu dogsdogsdogsdogsdogs 8 points on 2015-08-06 00:47:23

The mods of the banned chimpire subs have been complaining about /r/sexwithdogs, so it's possible we might get quarantined/banned as well.

But perhaps the type of people who are complaining about us makes us LESS likely to be banned.

ZoroasterTheCat 3 points on 2015-08-06 01:44:09

Link to said complaining? Why is chimpire complaining about SWD?

actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied 4 points on 2015-08-06 13:51:44

Why is chimpire complaining about SWD?

because people on reddit would rather have zoophiles/beasties than neonazis, lol.

Carodenius 3 points on 2015-08-06 05:21:27

I think we are considered offensive. I wouldn't be surprised if this sub were to be banned soon. Money speaks so it all comes down to the advertisers. If they want a sub removed and threaten to pull their ads from Reddit, it will likely be removed.

This is the letter they're cooking up on Voat.co right now. They're planning on sending this to the advertisers.

Hello. I am a user on the site www.reddit.com, where your company has purchased advertisements. I would like you to be aware that the site where your advertisement money is going has your ads displayed on some very (very) questionable pages... As of right now reddit is hosting a huge amount for bestiality content. Do you want your brand associated with a site that hosts this sort of content? I certainly would not want to do business with a company who has their ads displayed on such a disgusting and filthy site. A small example of what is being hosted on reddit.com where your company advertises: https://reddit.com/r/Zoophilia

https://reddit.com/r/Bestiality

https://reddit.com/r/sexwithhorses

https://reddit.com/r/PicsOfHorseDicks

https://reddit.com/r/PicsOfHorseVaginas

https://reddit.com/r/PicsOfHorseVaginas

https://reddit.com/r/PicsOfCanineVaginas

https://reddit.com/r/gayzoo

Reddit is a toxic website disguised as a family friendly community but instead it hosts the largest bestiality and grotesque animal abuse communities on the internet. Not only that, there is a plethora of human porn communities being hosted where your advertisments are being served as well:

https://reddit.com/r/CumSluts

https://reddit.com/r/Anal

https://reddit.com/r/GayBrosGoneWild

https://reddit.com/r/WouldYouFuckMyWife

https://reddit.com/r/Incest

and many many more. Everything from incest to communities sharing photos of women who are unaware that their photos are being shared with the internet for perverts to enjoy. I hope that you will reconsider how you spend your advertising dollars and re-evaluate your ad-campaign on Reddit to see if the ROI is worth having your brand associated with such vile and disgusting content.

https://voat.co/v/MeanwhileOnReddit/comments/379882

they actually think we're hardcore sjws, lmao

This whole thing is hilariously petty. /r/coontown was only banned because of the widespread attention it got; given that it's literal, open, neonazis pushing for us getting banned I don't think they'll get anywhere. At most we'll be quarantined.

furvert_tail Equine, large canid 1 point on 2015-08-06 14:13:13

Perhaps. Change of management and all that. And we're a capitalist society, so going after business connections is effective and therefore something we need to know how to defend against.

khgg57 8 points on 2015-08-06 06:24:50

First of all that's funny that they use voat for a campaign base to clean up reddit.

Second of all I am more than surprised how well people who claim they are disgusted by such vile content are informed about that content. Why do they look at it in such detail if they don't like it?

Third of all what is wrong with human pornography? Do we live in the 1880s now? I for one like human pornography and i am old enough to decide i'd like to see Anal intercourse depictions today. Who are they to barricade me from that and call it vile?

Fourth - the problem partially resides in the heads of the complainers. In the case of the horse dicks and horse vaginas subs they are largely disgusted by their thought what someone elses thoughts are seeing these pictures. Not the display itself. Because those subs dont show anything unnatural, they show quite natural things in fact. And those are pnly pornographic if the human mind makes them so. Otherwise the complainers could never leave the city for a walk in the countryside. This goes back to the old judicial problem that there is no pinpoint definition what exactly is and is not pornography (i know it when i see it....)

Fifth, i find it quite low to include zoophilia there which is a state of mind, a way a person is and not a pornography item in itself or a sex position. To the sharp and inquiring mind this is no different from trying to ban gays from restaurants and calling the police when two men have been 'too long' on a public toilet. It is persecution.

And lastly, who really believes those people have the myriads of businesses in mind that get funneled through advertisement networks that in turn then again advertise on reddit? This demonstrates a misunderstanding how internet ads work behind the scenes. If they get serious with that good luck with personalized ads and so on. Even if the handful of people exist that clear cut pull off this consumer threat - if i had a business i'd be secretly happy those troublemakers leave me alone.

Also f* spez et al. for starting this and giving the mob a reason to feel justified and unleashed to go after the usual easy targets.

P.S.: How about a counter-letter? Dear advertisers, thank you for supporting free speech and minorities. In times that see the cameback of old conservative religious prejudices and the persecution that comes with it in disguise, i am proud to be your customer. Your unwavered stand ....

Also, if it comes to that let's just give up on reddit. It's chock full of idiots nowadays anyway with the widened user base.

actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied 2 points on 2015-08-06 07:59:22

Thats kinda funny. I dunno what bone theyve got to pick with us but at least they put /r/zoo first. The first link people click on wont have any porn and the people who actually bother to click through will wonder why thy had their time wasted looking at a place like us. Like the one guy said, basically /r/relationships but with animals.

Also top lols how they put the human porn subreddits on the same level as us. Its not even about us by the looks of it, its about everything thats not missionary position between two married people apparently? Kinda sad that these guys cant just deal with it and are instead throwing their toys out the pram.

I almost feel bad for them getting banned but it was pretty obvious that racist viewpoints were not solely kept in those subs. All you need is a few people to mess it up for the rest of them i guess.

Also hopefully people will realise the irony of this thing being sent by neonazis. Ive said before, if given the choice im fairly certain people would rather side with zoos than neonazis.

zootrashcan doggy doodle dandy 6 points on 2015-08-06 08:28:10

The largest bestiality communities. That's hilarious. This sub gets what, one, maybe two new threads a day? Three if shit's really getting wild?

furvert_tail Equine, large canid 2 points on 2015-08-06 14:09:48

Thanks for the heads-up. In retrospect, I suspect this is how we got banned from FetLife (along with scat, incest, minors and necrophilia —although it seems nobody thought leather counts as zonecrophilia, presumably because of the usual hypocrisies).

123komak 2 points on 2015-08-06 17:02:56

Clearly, this is very constructed. And a certain desire seems to be the father of the thoughts behind it.

disguised as a family friendly community

Eh.. no? When I pull it up it says 'front page of the internet', and I make an account and then I can fuck around as I want. Where the devil did it say all these years that this is a family friendly place?

syzithryx i like cookies 2 points on 2015-08-08 01:50:07

And by family friendly they mean "bible-oriented" and "jesus-worshipping" and "muslim-hating", presumably. That's what people always mean when they say that. It's code.

CONSPIRACY!!! XD

demsweetdoggykisses 2 points on 2015-08-07 05:46:04

The only responsible answer is to copy the letter word for word, replace the forums in question with the most horrible ones we can find on Voat and send Voat's advertisers the same letter.

Carodenius 1 point on 2015-08-08 18:13:20

This whole thing was started by SJW that sent the same letter with different subs. Now Voaters want to have revenge and wreck the rest of Reddit.

I believe Reddit is a lost cause. These subs will be closed at some point. I'm a member of Voat myself and I find the quality of content there to be more strictly moderated. Userbase is still too small though.

demsweetdoggykisses 1 point on 2015-08-08 23:13:48

I find the userbase of Voat to be all the soft-kiddie-porn-apologists and biggots who wanted to harass people and immature assholes that got kicked out of reddit. Even if they all act sweet as daisies and sunshine there, I won't take part in that shithole by principle alone. Reddit hasn't been any trouble to me and I couldn't care less about the subs that got banned nor any of the reddit administration politics that seems to be such a huge deal to people. This sub isn't hurting anyone and won't be closed anytime soon, it's just a discussion group and no porn is posted here and nobody brigades from here and nobody here is seeking any attention or making it into some special clandestine club of hate and cynicism.

Incestniqua 1 point on 2015-08-06 06:18:32

Reddit is going to doxx us since they collect e-mails to get into quarantined subs.

ulungu dogsdogsdogsdogsdogs 1 point on 2015-08-06 06:19:46

there are numerous temporary email services you can use like mailinator, 5minutemail, etc.

btwIAMAzoophile Dogs are cute. 1 point on 2015-08-06 15:34:50

Or you can have a zoo PR email... I thought this was standard protocol to use that email with all the zoo services lol... One would need a VPN regardless because reddit and basically everywhere else logs IP addresses.
