So this is a link I found on Tumblr for a free online course about dog cognitive and emotional abilities. Figured it might be useful or interesting to some people here.

We should want to learn about how dogs think in general- about everything. Not just what they think about humans (but that too).

Dogs don't think. They only feel.

It depends on your definition of thought. They have a cerebral cortex which is used, among other things, for the storage and retrieval of memories, problem solving, and simple cognitive tasks, as well as social functioning both within their own species and with humans. They don't think linguistically, as we do, and are much worse at certain kinds of thought (abstraction, forethought, complex forms of empathy), but I do believe that they think, on some level. Just not as clearly as most humans.

"they don't think, they feel." Yes, that will get us accepted by the mainstream {not}

Ironically, it might. If people see dogs as just items, they might see it as no different than having sex with a sex doll.

Stupid, and hardly a good argument, but it's one extreme that could be argued.

Yep, and I've found that people who think animals are purely property and for human use tend to meet the question of bestiality with some variation of "Gross, but who cares." It's also why, as a general rule (there are exceptions like Finland and New Hampshire), areas with no anti-bestiality laws tend to have/enforce less animal welfare laws in general.

I'd never want to be "accepted by mainstream" anyway.

That wouldn't get me anything besides having my animals killed by spiteful people who are now aware of me.

Not if people realized that zoophilia is 'okay.' :) At this point, many don't believe it is. And I don't blame them.

Not sure if I'm the only one seeing the Bruce Lee reference, or if there is no reference.
