Just wondering if any of you zoos saw it at Sundance 2016. It looks beautiful and the reviews have been mostly positive. I know there is a sex scene but fortunately it focuses on the emotional attraction and connection between the woman and the wolf.

If anything, this type of film, along with others, might be a path to acceptance.

I hope this gets a wider release and I get to see it somehow (online or otherwise). I'd love to watch this.

I've been waiting for someone to cross this line ever since "Sleeping Dogs Lie" last decade. This is going to be fun.

I was hopeful about that movie myself, but I hate its message. It's decent as a comedy, but it tries to teach a lesson which is, in my opinion, a terrible way to live in general.

Agreed. It's only worth is as a conversation starter. It was the first time my younger self realized that there was such a thing as interspecies sexual contact.

I found a trailer, and there's a little bit of kissing...

This looks really interesting. I get the feeling the wolf is metaphorical or in her head somehow. But regardless, I have to see it.

The kissing was easily the best part, but is it just me, or does she seem more than a little crazy?

I think it makes more sense in context. The basic premise contrasts the modern, unnatural world with the attractiveness of the natural (wild) world.

It's one of the films in trying to get to, if I get a chance to see it I'll certainly report back my thoughts and its relevance to our world.

holy shit that looks amazing! In cinemas soon apparently, we'll see how far it goes. I'd consider doing a couple days trip to Berlin or something to see this. Exciting!

Created this account specifically for this sub/thread.

Saw the trailer, and while the subject matter is up my ally, I was more than a little annoyed at how it seems to conflate mental illness with zoophilia.

Sure it's taboo. I get they're emphasizing that and the disconnect between internal desires and cultural acceptance. I literally feel that pain. I LOVE animals, canines being my weakness - I do not love the implication that I am insane for it. I am a well-liked, rational person with plans, goals, a career, and need for social acceptance, just like anyone else. That doesn't mean " I eat Alpo in the mall food court and look/act like I belong in an institution".

Maybe I'm jumping the gun -I intend to watch this movie the moment I can get it. My initial reaction, though, isn't "finally! A beautiful movie exploring interspecies attraction and the hardships of an individual marginalized by a society that doesn't understand" - it's "Finally!... Wait, why does the wolf-lover have to look like she is on all the meth?"

Perhaps it is an edgy exploration of zoophilia, but I anticipate that any critical or social acclaim this movie may garner will be subverted by the apparently blatant insinuation that zoophilia = mentally sick.

Sorry for the rant. That wolf is totes hawt though, at least I totally understand her obsession, apart from looking/acting batshit drool

So is it available anywhere?
