Obviously they are very well researched on the topic because of how they just assumes sex with animals = abuse, and as a man who has hands made of daggers (dodging that trademark) I can confirm it's abuse.

It's interesting to note the differences as well. This is only the second anti-bestiality bill in the United States that has been sponsored by a domestic violence prevention group. It is telling that the lies told by OpBeast, among others, have so permeated the public. The only study that supports a link between domestic violence and bestiality is a study fifteen years old with a design flaw and a laughable sample size.

You need only a little goading to convince people of lies and half-truths that they already are primed to believe.
What would take many years of hard work and suffering for zoos to correct takes a few minutes for antis to reinforce. The battle is not even remotely fair.
The only study that supports a link between domestic violence and bestiality is a study fifteen years old with a design flaw and a laughable sample size.
And yet nobody cares, because A) everybody abuses science in the generation of public policy and B) nobody double checks the "facts" that support the causes they believe in.
Argh, it's just so frustrating.

"Some have questioned whether the bill is needed, considering Ohio already has animal cruelty laws. But Hughes said there is conduct described in the bill that is not prohibited under current law, especially if there is no known harm to the animal."
lovely. "well, yeah, the animal's fine, but ... SEX!! bad!!!"
fucking idiots.
edit ..
also: hasn't this guy tried getting a law passed in ohio several times over the last couple years? and it's been shot down? or am i misremembering...

That's some nice logic there. There is a correlation of people from group A being in group B therefore all/most people in group B must also be in group A... Right.

Regarding his comments on BF, he's an idiot. As of this writing, there are 1568 threads on that board over all time. To put that in perspective, by switching to the past 90 days, that number went down to 109. Of the most recent 50, we have the following tally:
Seeking fellow zoos: 17
Advertising their own animals: 12
Seeking animals: 17
Objecting to this bill: 2
Mod Rules: 2
Hardly an astounding majority, or a problem worthy of legislation.

Get out of here with your facts.

Oh, I forgot that we were making laws, instead of doing more productive things like enforcing the ones in place.

Stupid/ignorant people's logic:
People into bestiality = animal abusers = child molesters = sex addicts = psychopaths = zero empathy = low intelligence = dangerous and criminal = potential killers ... (oops that escalated quickly!)
And if someone with that kind of "thinking" has a high position, this is the result.

And of course they bring up child abuse; because they always do. At this point it's almost comedic if it wasn't so sad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RybNI0KB1bg

Wow, I had never seen so much flawed logic.
