Question from a non-zoophile, are many people attracted to house cats? (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2016-03-02 17:01:18 by PerpetualYawn

I don't know much about this community, but it seems to me that the majority of people here are attracted mainly to dogs or horses. But I haven't seen anything about being attracted to house cats. Is there a particular reason? (Sorry if this seems ignorant, again, I don't know much about this community.)

They exist, although they seem to be in a minority. For obvious reasons it's not very advisable to actually have sex with a domestic cat, so even those few who find cats hot don't generally post much about it. Most posts on zoophile forums are about relationships, practical advice, legal and ethical matters. Since most of these are not relevant when it comes to attraction to cats (since people agree that human-cat mating is not something to be done), there are less posts about it.

My boyfriend seems to be attracted to house cats, mostly as an extension since he finds cheetahs, cougars and similar large cats attractive. The closest thing he has done to act upon it is to grab a female cat in heat by the neck a quick moment.

Personally, I like watching cats mate, but I'm not attracted to them in the same way as I'm attracted to dogs or humans. I can't really see myself in a romantic and/or sexual relationship with a cat.

I see. But do you think there is a reason romantic relationships with cats are less common?

i like the post above a lot. but you also have to take into account that there is a vast spectrum. if you insist to define zoophilia as people having sex then cats are very seldom here. but if you say people living together with cats it's a looot. and you are already thinking old cat lady here. isn't that stereotypical lady a romantic relationship with a cat?

Ok maybe that s a bit far. but a good reason is that dogs and horses (the most common partners) are 'geared' towards humans. they respond well as the social animals they are to us as social animals. cats are not very social. it's easy to teach a dog tricks and he loves interaction with you. thats a positive relationship. a cat knows her name, but doesn't particularly care if you say it just so.

I realize that it's about alot more than sex. I was using romantic as not necessarily sexual. And that makes sense about cat's personalities.

Hey, so I know this is irrelevant but happy reddit birhtday

You're welcome.

Nope. Housecats are actually pretty low in the popularity level, with dogs and horses being favorites. I'm guessing this has to do with most cats being aloof and not having the long-time partnership with humans that other domesticated animals do.

I find them somewhat romantically and sexually attractive, but I prefer dogs.

Same here

Lefthandedsock 1 point on 2016-03-02 21:25:25

If they had better personalities and a more pleasant anatomy, I might be interested in them. But they don't, so I'm not.

They're cute, though.

PerpetualYawn 1 point on 2016-03-02 21:36:04

My cat's personality is that of a dog's. But yeah, most of them are assholes.

TheLostOne97531 1 point on 2016-03-03 01:14:25

They are cute, aren't they?

horse_account 1 point on 2016-03-02 22:45:06

Can you finger housecats, or are fingers too big for them? That's got to be the equivalent of tentacle porn to cats. Especially considering fingers don't have fucking barbs on them.

You know what I saw once? I was on some furry porn site, don't remember which, and there was some porn where one of the female lions from the lion king movies was having sex with a random human. Well, one of the idiot commenters said "why would she want to be with a human!? He doesn't have barbs!", and I was like, idiot, have you seen cats when they have sex? The first thing the female cat does when the male removes himself is flip out and attack him. I don't think they enjoy getting their vagina fucked up by the barbs.

zoozooz 2 points on 2016-03-03 09:26:11

You'd think the vagina would evolve to withstand the barbs. I don't know much about it, I just read somewhere that the behavior is not very different when stimulated without barbs... https://imgur.com/a/dhPWe

It's not the screaming that makes me think they don't like it, it's the lashing out. Violent rage just seems like a weird reaction to nothing but intense sexual pleasure. I don't know about you, but I know that's the last thing I feel immediately after having sex.

Susitar Canidae 1 point on 2016-03-05 21:45:48

I actually do experience something similar sometimes? Not as intense as a female cat, but I have been known to growl and bite if someone keeps stimulating me after orgasm. It's just too sensitive...

Heard of the q tip method?

TheLostOne97531 1 point on 2016-03-03 01:18:27

It tends to be dogs and horses, I am very into dogs and horses seem hot (But not my thing) when I started to realize I was a zoo, it was cats of either gender, now, it's male dogs and male humans only. And if I find porn with both, I go insane, even if porn is against my ethics.

ursusem 1 point on 2016-03-03 02:45:26

I LOVE house cats. However as far as being attracted to them in a zoophilic way I would say not a whole lot am I attracted to them. I am somewhat attracted to them though. There is that occasional male cat (and I'm a woman, for your knowledge).

PerpetualYawn 1 point on 2016-03-03 03:09:06

And what are the main animals you are attracted to if you don't mind me asking? I'm wondering if there is some corrolation between attractions of different animals. I don't mean to sound crude or anything.

ursusem 1 point on 2016-03-03 03:44:21

The only animal I would really have a zoophilic relationship with would be a bear. Sorry if that sounds kooky to you but I'm as serious as all get out about that.

AXwoof Exclusive 1 point on 2016-03-03 23:06:02

I grew up around cats, but never had any emotional or sexual feelings for them. I actually find them unattractive and their smell unpleasant. They're just regular pets to me. I still have a male cat, and he sometimes sleeps on my lap, while I am sitting in front of the PC.

Battlecrops dogs, cats, snakes, ungulates 1 point on 2016-03-04 05:51:22

I'm romantically (not sexually) attracted to housecats, and my partner is one. I don't think we can really understand why certain animals are more "popular" (like dogs and horses) without understanding what causes zoosexual attraction in the first place, which we don't know. I think about that a lot!

PerpetualYawn 1 point on 2016-03-04 05:55:49

So do you engage in sexual activities with your cat? I assume when you say romantically attracted to them, you don't mean exclusively romantically.

Battlecrops dogs, cats, snakes, ungulates 1 point on 2016-03-04 07:50:54

Actually no, it's just romantic! I'd say I'm a little curious about cats sexually, but not really attracted to them that way. I think they're cute in the same way everybody else does. We just have a romantic/emotional relationship.

Cool! I've learned quite a lot from Just this one question I posted. It's really nice to see a minority community be inclusive and kind.

Battlecrops dogs, cats, snakes, ungulates 1 point on 2016-03-07 00:19:36

That's great, glad we could help you learn more!! I always tell people about this subreddit when they want to get in touch with an online zoo community; I love the folks here.

Man, it's pretty amazing what the internet can do. There are so many things I wouldn't have even thought of if the internet didn't exist.

nineteenbitches 1 point on 2016-03-08 03:14:34

Sure, "they" exist. Maybe the community doesn't offer enough to keep them around.

animalfancier 1 point on 2016-03-08 14:35:37

As far as I’m aware, the barbs on a male cat’s penis stimulate the release of the ovum in the female. I’ve also got a feeling that the pain they cause on withdrawal acts to put the female off having sex with another male, which would suit the first male (or more accurately, his genes) just fine; his sperm would then be the likliest to fertilise her.

PerpetualYawn 1 point on 2016-03-08 16:33:51

What has that got to do with a this?
