Some how i had never heard of this crazy beautiful animal the "maned wolf" untill today and thought Id share this information with the other canine people here! I mean hot damn, those legs! The color is amazing, kinda cant stop staring lol

Reminds me of African Serval cats, who also have long legs to see over tall grass.

They have a very unusual gait, stepping with both left legs then both right legs.

If you look carefully at the gait, you'll notice that there are at least three legs in contact with the ground at all times. And the gait is more specifically: Rear Left, Front Left, Rear Right, Front right. Like most quadrupeds, but the interval very close.

Maned wolves are actually more related to foxes than to wolves. I've seen in the zoo. Thought they looked interesting they didn't set of any 'Oh my god they are amazing' senses that I have for wolves and dogs. Kinda weird but interesting creatures I think they are.

I've seen maned wolves at a zoo. Pretty animals, but a bit too leggy for my taste.

Could I add something about this amazing animal. Maned wolves are more related to pariri dogs than foxes or wolves or other canids. They have scent marking that smells a lot like the classic Marijuana smell. And they mostly eat the wolf fruit and are Omnivores, consuming more fruit than meat. They are an exceptional species! :)
