Whats your personality type? (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2016-08-07 19:10:55 by actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied

I used this https://www.16personalities.com/ and got ESPT-A which pretty much describes me to a t.

Most interesting to me was how I could relate the 'romantic relationships' section to being a zoo. some quotes:

When it comes to romantic relationships, people with the ESTP personality type can hardly be said to be pining away for their wedding day. Life is fun and full of surprises (something ESTPs have particular skill in delivering), and they enjoy it all in the here and now.

and

Sexually, ESTPs have no real reservations. It's fun, it's physically enjoyable, new ideas are always welcome, and ESTP personalities' strong perception keeps them well-tuned to their partners' needs.

the 'living in the here and now' and 'not getting too tied up with it all' strike me as being the kind of dogly personality traits that could explain my love of dogs.

I'm just curious to see what everyone else gets. Would be neat to see if theres a common theme at all.

I've taken this before, and I'm INTX (right in the middle between P and J).

The INTP personality type is fairly rare, making up only three percent of the population, which is definitely a good thing for them, as there's nothing they'd be more unhappy about than being "common"

good thing youre a zoo haha. In all seriousness I'm guessing this is why some zoos like having massive discussions about zoo stuff and others really CBA. Interesting stuff eh.

I don't really pay attention to MBTI anymore, because most people are mistyped by those random tests with type description that fit pretty much anyone, because people tend to see themselves in generic descriptions, see Barnum Effect.

Actually getting into the cognitive functions associated with the personality type and not solely relying on the dichotomy of 2 letters is sort of more accurate, but requires you to actually invest some time in introspection trying to figure out your cognitive functions.

For example: I used to, and probably still would, type as INTP or possibly even INTJ in tests which are totally different from each other in terms of cognitive functions. I'm now fairly sure that I'm actually and ISFP which is pretty close to INTJ, but far from INTP in terms of functions.

INTP here. I've taken such things before, and they tend to by INTP or INTJ

I don't know how credible it is and I don't put any stock in it, but I've taken it maybe 4 or 5 times spread out over 12 years and have always gotten INFP or INFJ.

Edit: Just took the test after not having taken it in 1 1/2 - 2 years and got INFP/-A

...and no one can even imagine that the results of this little "test" only match your own image you have of yourself, not your actual personality. The way you answer these questions is totally biased towards the self image you have , the guy you WANT to be rather than the person you actually are. One little twist I´d like to add to this horoscope type of classifying more than 7 billion individuals in no more but 16 different types, 4 more than the zodiac: let your friends and family do the test, but ask them to answer the questions like THEY think YOU would do and see what results you´ll get. Prepare for sudden enlightenment when you compare YOUR results to all the others...you are NOT what you think you are.

actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied 3 points on 2016-08-08 06:58:04

while I agree this test relies on accurate self relection to say this isnt possible is completely false. Again to say you should get friends and family to do it for you would mean you act the same around them as you do with everyone else.

If you are not possible of accurate self reflection maybe you should spend more time thinking about who you really are, and stop trying to be someone you're not.

also with 7 billion people not everyone can be a special snowflake.

Even if it is mumbo jumbo I'd love to know what you get btw ;)

I got INTJ.

The description is strikingly accurate of my personality.

Even if Putin is one.

I'm an ENFP -A

Campaigners are fiercely independent, and much more than stability and security, they crave creativity and freedom.

Haha, this pretty much describes me :') An interesting read and certainly enjoyable. Should take some similar tests later, to see if there is a difference

Last time I took a Myers-Briggs examination, I got ENTP. That was several years ago. With the page linked above, I left with an ISFJ-T and I feel like that is actually pretty reminiscent of me. Leaving college and moving out of state has taken a bit of a toll on my self-confidence against my light social anxiety.

the_egoldstein 1 point on 2016-08-09 07:24:46

As usual, I score as INTJ or INTP, INTP-T this time.

Susitar Canidae 1 point on 2016-08-09 14:09:17

The first time I took a test of this kind I was INTP, nowadays I guess I'm closer to INTJ.

WeAreDifferent Canines 1 point on 2016-08-09 17:02:45

I am INTJ-T, a very high percentage at that. The description fits me almost perfectly.

Several other tests concluded the same.

The-Forested-Garden 1 point on 2016-08-12 13:46:57

INTP, but I personally think these sorts of tests are ridiculous and I don't take much stock in them.

It does seem that people report different results on different days, and it's been a couple of years since I took the test, so I can't say if it's still accurate. That said, I'm an ISFJ.

Mnemosynyx 1 point on 2016-08-28 16:25:34

I've gotten two different results fairly consistently so I don't really know. I know for sure I am introverted.

Eonexas 1 point on 2016-08-31 03:05:45

I'm an INFP.
