Has anyone else noticed the odd uptick in new members? (self.zoophilia)

Right when all the stuff with #opbeast and such started here, we've gotten a few weird "new user" posts. I welcome new zoos with open arms, but am i the only one thinking we should be wary?
For example, one of the recent ones said this
"I'm new to this subreddit and probably won't be very active on it. My question is, is there any zoophile friendly porn out there? The real stuff, not drawings."
and used one of the most generic usernames ive ever seen (newzooo). So, am i just being paranoid, or is something else happening?
desperate porn wankers
Now that you mention it, it really sounds like Anon-OPBeast trying to search for zooporn sites to shut them down.
But honestly, we could also just be overreacting, these people could just be lost horny naked monkeys.
Maybe something else. But I think we'll be OK, even if there's some kind of concerted effort to plant assholes in our midst.
I'm kinda new, I got here right before this whole #OPBeast, but I think you might have a point as they keep attacking sites where fetishizers go, they come here thinking we might know where to point them.
Honestly I don't see the big deal. If they're here for pornography, there's nothing for them here. If they're here to "catch us out", they'll be disappointed, because again, we don't have that stuff here. If they're here because they're genuine, they'll learn the rules and adapt, or leave. If they're playing the long game...
Well honestly that's the best case scenario. Because I think ultimately, reason is "on our side". If there do happen to be any honest members, fluke though that may be, there is a greater chance that they'll be exposed to arguments they've never considered, than there is that they'll find some "dark underbelly" to this board that doesn't (as far as I know) exist.
I got an "paid interview" request that kindly stopped responding when I started to ask hard questions. New account too.
I'd say they should always be assumed to be here, as a matter of course.
I got the same thing. Said they were looking for zoos "from the UK".
I'm genuinely curious if they thought I was from the UK, and messed up, or if they had some other motive for trying to limit it to the UK.
That would explain them contacting me. "Rannoch" is a very UK-type name (I think it is/was a province name or something), though I draw it from a book series.
I never heard of "paid interviews". Sounds suspicious.
I've been a long time lurker and figured it's about time I start being a part of the community:)
At the very minimum before you agree to an interview is a verified e-mail you can find on the mag's homepage or printed material. Full author name. List of articles. Go and read the stuff. If you cannot get that go through the editor with the name and they will be happy to forward you to the correct person.
Figured I'd point that out if it wasn't obvious since I had to go through some of it.
These are some of the "tough questions" that sent my interviewer packing...
Welcome back Yearningmice!
Well, you were featured /r/Drama (although incorrectly), you tend to enjoy having discussions about hilariously outlandish topics like "Feminism in zoophilia", plus u/30-30's rants are glorious. So it's fun to follow this sub from time to time. ¯\\(ツ)/¯
uhh me?
This sub.
I think their goal is to make this subreddit quarantined.
that would make sense. what can we do about it?

Telegram, a few weeks to a month ago had a spate of group deletions for non private groups with open invite links. That was annoying.
but as I predicted, it only caused a temporary...diaspora before everyone re-coalesced...
To the anti-zoo: you aren't going to rewire peoples' brains to not think animals are attractive by being a nuisance.
and any serious zoo I've spoken to has a pretty solid and comfortable grasp on ethics.
