Is "Fantastic Beasts" a Zoo Movie? (self.zoophilia)

I just saw the Harry Potter prequel, and protagonist Newt Scamander seems a little zooish to me. This is because he has the following traits:
Carries a variety of animals around in a magical briefcase at all times.
Is affectionate toward said animals, speaking kindly to them and treating them as dear friends
Has difficulty relating to others in his society, and engages in minor criminal activity for the benefit of animals.
Strongly opposes anti-miscegenation laws (between wizards and other people), and empathizes with victims of prejudice.
Carries the musk of a rhino-like creature, using this and the creature's mating rituals to attract it toward his case.
I get the same vibe as with Kristof from Frozen. Did anyone else notice this?
You can be fond of animals and enjoy their company without being in love with them. Sorry

"Fantastic Bestialists"
I remember people telling me the same thing about "The Golden Compass"
I will quote what Disney said about Frozen when confronted with the bestiality-joke accusations:
"It is what you want it to be."
Uh??? No? And you do realize that outside of our echo chamber we call a community, that people can care greatly about animals without being a "zoo".
Like seriously, you're looking into it, way too much.
Hey /u/30-30 we're talking about childish fantasies, and because Aluzky's gone you can come back to being the asshole. ;-)
Anyways, Yea, I would say Newt felt a little zooish, but then again so do a lot of animal trainers I've met. Doesn't mean they are zoos, just they know how the animals act and how to talk to them; I doubt they would try anything inappropriate.
There is already one potential zoo in the Wizarding World, I think it's enough, lol.
hagrid?
No, Aberforth, Dumbledore's brother. He is said to have "a curious fondness for goats."
ah. i've read the books, but my memory sucks.
Aberforth's inappropriate goat charms... I kinda want to read that fan fiction.
Really who?
Aberforth, Dumbledore's brother. He is said to have "a curious fondness for goats."
Certainly not.
Perfect example of selective perception and how reality tunnels work. With this zootopia BS, it was quite the same...and all those beasties/zoos immediately starting to fantasize about the "hot neighbor walking the unneutered family dog down the street" (....must be a "zoo"!") basically suffer from the same selective perception. The truth is: you don´t see the real world, most of the time, you see your thought patterns and mistake them for the real world. For further information, consult Robert Anton Wilson´s books...
I didn't get that feeling, but maybe that's because I didn't like the movie much and didn't really pay attention.
Definitely with you on Kristoff though.
