Looking for a new forum or community (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2017-01-07 02:09:41 by BurnedRowan big ol' pupper

Hi all. Hope I'm not stepping on any eggshells by making a post like this here, but I've been looking to join a close zoophile community for a while that isn't hyper-focused on sex. Beastforum is obviously out of the question, and knotty.me, which I had heard was a great forum, no longer exists.

I'd love to get to know the community here over time, as well. I'm a woman in her mid-20s working on starting a safe life with a canine partner. Due to extensive travel and limited income, I'm currently unable to have a dog in my life, but I spend like 20 hours looking at cute puppers on tumblr to make up for it.

Let me know if you have any suggestions for sites, or any questions for me!

-Rowan

Well... Welcome to /r/zoophilia!

I suggest you check out some of the popular posts and look around the sub to get a feel of what the community is like. If you are looking for a zoophile community that is not "hyper-focused on sex", then you have probably came to the right place!

In terms of your questions about sites, this is really the most active place for zoophiles I am familiar with, there is zoophilesforum, but it isnt active much nowadays...

Okay great- thanks for letting me know!

The lack of activity on zoophilesforum isn't the only real issue with it in regards to the posters goals, in my opinion.

To me, in my time there, it was very sex oriented.

And that's saying nothing about my ban for pointing out some blatant abusers in their mists.

It is more sex oriented than knotty or this sub for sure, but it definitely at least isn't as bad as beastforum.

I personally don't really care much for the site, and you do have a point that it isn't run very well. Although there are some interesting threads on there.

Unfortunately, there aren't really any forums in that vein right now -- at least, none that I'm aware of.

There's this one.

Welcome.
Welcome to /r/zoophilia.
It's safer here.

No really though, this is the best place I can think of.
Check out the posts here, you'll see for yourself.
Here's another subreddit that might be useful: /r/animalromance
If you want to avoid sexual stuff, I'd not visit things like /r/bestiality as they're just full of horny bestialists.

Thanks for the recommendation! I must say I'm generally ambivalent towards the sexual aspect of our subculture, and I feel like there's a place for discussions about sex, but I'm personally tired of communities being completely oversaturated with it. I feel like there is a big difference between bestiality and zoophilia, and I'm a zoophile first and foremost.

I think you'll find most of us here share that mindset. Welcome.

I think this is a great forum for discussion, personally. Not only are we able to communicate here, but you can integrate your own profile into other interests you like and sort of give your zoophile handle even more of an identity. Not necessarily in, like, a fear-of-being-outed way, but it makes you seem a whole lot more like a normal person IMO, which a lot of non-zoos don't think about. My username stands out a lot more than others', but I enjoy and have had some great conversations popping into groups I can associate like /r/vegan and stuff and just stuff on the frontpage.

Is there a discord or telegram group for this community? I'd be interested in joining if that was an option.

I would never recommend using a communication channel that requires you to handle your phone number to the service's provider. It is so dangerous in so many ways. Sure, you can use a throwaway phone number, but then your user account could be easily compromised.

I was thinking in booting a Bitmessage channel, but so far it looks like there is not interest in such a thing.

Telegram uses two step verification and encrypts everything* , also doesn't let people with the telephone number see username and vice versa. Messages are also encrypted and the keys stored separately. There are ways it could go wrong, but it would take a ton of work in order for said ways to fall into place, not worthwhile for really anybody lol. For what it is it is pretty secure.

The service provider gets to know the phone numbers of every member of the group. Unless you are using throwadays, they get a critical identifying piece of information.

The service provider gets to see all the messages that are sent using any other method than a Secret Chat.

Telegram users are vulnerable if the service provider plays rogue on them, by their own or (more likely) because they are forced by somebody powerful, such as law enforcers. They have the plaintext messages and the information needed to identify the users. It is just as bad as using plaintext email.

If you really must use a mobile application with real time chat, Signal feels safer, if just because everything is encrypted end-to-end by default. And it is still not good.
