Moderator Election Results (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2017-01-10 17:40:00 by btwIAMAzoophile Dogs are cute.
Quick update while I'm eating lunch: the results are in. It was a close race between Amorebestia and Battlecrops, with tencendur_ following in 3rd place.
/u/Amorebestia won out, so congratulations. I haven't sent over the request yet but I will get in touch with you today hopefully to get things situated. Figured everyone else would like to know and share their opinions as well. Here are the top 3 vote results.
Anyways, cheers. I gotta finish lunch, take my dogs out and get back to work.
Congrats :)
Thanks! :D
All praise the hypno-moderator

Congratulations /u/AmoreBestia
I don't know what to expect, but it's interesting to have a non-zoo as a moderator, though.
It's why I voted for him(her?), primarily. I hope that fact can bring a good level of outside perspective into our community, so we don't have "blinders on" all the time.
If it turns out to be a an OpBeast doubleagent, I blame btwIAMAzoophile. Can't lose.
It's k I have ban list and CSS backups and they can't do anything to me anyways lol
I just like to have someone to blame for the coming apocalypse. Always.
Lmao they're way too stupid for that.
That perfect English, that behavior, and the fact that they'd have a spy is giving them too much credit.
They only know about 'hunting da IPz 'n shut down animol raep sites'
But it's funny to imagine, though.
I can't wait to get a headache from that edgy and cringy Team Rocket style intro bullshit they do.

Fortunately, I wasn't serious.
Have an upvote for that awesome parody, though. :)
I just dont get why a non zoo would stick around a sub that only talks about zoo stuff? Is it the fascination with us as a group or...?
There are lots of reasons, not all of which immediately come to mind. Part of it is simply because I want to help out how I can in a misrepresented population. A good reason, too, is that we share certain common interests politically, and, you know, I'm more than happy to advocate for zoophiles in general. You're good people... Much better than the characters you get clumped together with.
It's also worth noting that a disproportionately large number of people here will actually take the time to form a strong line of communication with their nonhuman partners, and without any condescension observe and respect agency in nonhumans -- in and out of bed. To those ends, you've got an understanding of the nonhuman psyche that may rival the scientific community's understanding. Getting a front seat to that is invaluable, to say the least. I'm also not partial to anthropocentrism, so this is a reprieve from the tedium of the rest of society, as well -- but this particular reason is rather minute in the face of the rest, as I don't invest myself in things solely because they're interesting or 'less tedious', as it were.
Probably someone into sexuality-related issues. We are pretty much the most the most in the spotlight as of late. I've seen a few non-zoos hang around us for that reason.
It would make sense... but that's not it. :D
I just saw your other post. Your reasons are your own of course, that was just my best guess with no background. ;)
Him is correct, but gender pronouns don't matter too much to me, personally. Stopped caring years ago, since I appear androgynous in person. I hope that my presence may attract more reasonable discourse from 'outsiders' as well, but that may be expecting too much. It'd be really cool to have active (and civil) exchange between zoos and non-zoos on here, though(other than myself ;P).
Pardon my naivety, but can you elucidate OpBeast for me? I've seen talk of it many times before, but was never privy to the details.
OpBeast is a branch of Anonymous, and can be summed up by searching the twitter hashtag OpBeast
If they think this, then I now know all I need to know about them, lol.
they pretty much think that, but like, mainstream anon groups seem to ignore them
Thanks! :D
I was actually pretty stunned that I won the vote. I expected /u/Battlecrops to win by a landslide, partly due to the fact that his name is literally in the sidebar.
Same, tbh. My hope is that I'll be a bit more able to prevent salt from being aimed at the sub by virtue of my presence, but that could just was well be completely false. Still, it'll help that angry outsiders can't really direct their hate at me. At least, not in the same capacity as the others on here.
I'll definitely be investigating structural changes and additions to the sub, but that'll only come after I get a consensus on what people want. Ideally, though, I'll be doing more than just enforcement.

Congratulations /u/AmoreBestia!
Hey thanks everyone who voted for me, I was expecting many since I'm not really as active in commenting around here like I used to. It's neat to see that apparently I've left a good impression even though I'm not around as much anymore.
Congrats /u/AmoreBestia from what I've seen so far you seem very reasonable and well-spoken :>
