Pardon the dust! (self.zoophilia)

Logging in today, you'll probably notice alot of changes, and probably haven't noticed a number of others. I got a bit impatient and decided to implement most of the ideas in the idea election, as well as doing a bit of harmless restructuring ahead of time. The election was less about choosing what to implement, and more about choosing what not to implement. Interestingly enough, every idea ended up getting traction. I had time to work on the subreddit, so I got to work on some changes. If you've got an idea for the subreddit, it's not too late! There's still two days including today until the election is over.

The first thing you guys probably noticed is that I condensed the sidebar; I moved some text to the submission page, and condensed the rules there.

As promised, the rules page is now being used and will give you guys some more options when reporting. The rules have much more room to be expanded, and this allows for comfortable extension of rule descriptions into the wiki. Speaking of the wiki, some people should expect an invite to our extended staff.

Additionally, I removed the "created by" bar, "create a new subreddit" button, and the Snoo blurbs from the sidebar. I think it looks pretty sharp. How about you guys?

If you tried posting a submission within the past couple hours, you probably noticed talk of "No Salt" mode and "Strict Safe For Work" mode in the submission text. You can use [☮] or [NS] to prompt an automoderator post that will say no salt is allowed, and [∀] or [SSFW] to prompt an automoderator post that will say to keep things PG-13. I'll be getting it working with author comments in the future, but for now you guys will need to include it in your initial post(UPDATE: The author just needs to edit the thread with one of the flags and automod will switch the mode). Automoderator is sensitive to it in the title and body, and you can edit the flags out when automoderator does its stuff. This is only scratching the surface of Automoderator's functionality, so expect more in the future.

The rule against repeated civil disruptions can be found in detail here. It's in a 'beta' stage right now and is subject to change depending on how volatile it is.

/u/actuallynotazoophile's suggestion to rename the tab title to "Animal Aficionados" has been put into effect. If you like it, be sure to thank them for it. :P

I jury rigged some flairs and will be implementing some automoderator commands for moderators so we can use custom link flairs, to make removals and warnings more transparent on threads(EDIT: DONE!). The number of tags is currently limited. We don't want too many flairs, but if you have a very important topic type, be sure to pass it on to us.

I did all of this by myself with no input from /u/btwIAMAzoophile, so there may be some changes to these things in the near future.

EDIT: I also added some illustrations for the other colors, so everyone can enjoy my terrible doodles. The green flair is meant to be reptiles, turquoise is a fish, pink is pigs, gray is humans, orange was supposed to be birds but it looks like an arrow, and purple is supposed to be cats. half of them are trash, but it's the best I could do at the time. If you want to submit a better copy of one of these, submit it as a 14x14 image with an alpha channel.

###This thread is in NO SALT mode!

Please be aware that all disrespectful or derogatory comments in this thread will be immediately removed pending a report and moderator discretion.

Disrespect is defined as anything, intentional or unintentional, that appears to be meant to offend, shame, harass, or otherwise derogate another individual or group, within /r/zoophilia or without.

This does not include observations or fair criticisms whose verbiage is not inherently inflammatory and can be reasonably inferred or verified in some capacity. Potentially inflammatory opinions that are clarified as such and are in posts not intended to be inflammatory are not infractions. Our definition of disrespect is not meant to infringe upon freedom of speech, and if you think a post was wrongly marked for infraction, you are free to appeal it in a reply to a moderator's comment.

If you're unsure about whether your post has dangerously high sodium content, submit a modmail with a copy of your comment. We will tell you how to keep your comment heart healthy when needed.

###This thread is in Strict Safe For Work mode!

Please note that sexually explicit discussion in this thread will be promptly removed. This includes but is not limited to links to explicit imagery, verbal depictions, 'advice', and discussion about relevant mechanisms and structures. Discussing modes of attraction or anything that is not explicitly sexual is still allowed. In other words, keep it PG-13.

If you're unsure about whether your post is NSFW, submit a modmail with a copy of your comment.

Cool! I'll be honest, this was more than I was expecting out of any new moderator.

I'm not wild about the idea of "no salt" mode. Seems to imply that being disrespectful and inflammatory is acceptable by default.

It's basically a stronger version of rule 7, an expansion of which can be found in the sidebar. Some people are better at keeping their tempers in check than others, here especially, and we're forced to toe a line between censorship through inaction and active censoring, pretty much, because of it. No Salt mode is basically us switching to active censorship at the behest of the poster. We're preparing to officiate our rule against disrespect and will begin actively enforcing against it from then on out.

New subscriber here. Tried to open the link for the rule page and it sent me to dead space. Not sure if it's me or that link but thought it worth the mention.

Welcome!

I logged out and tried the link, and it worked for me. It may have been a hiccup on Reddit's end. Have you tried again? If that doesn't work, can you try a different browser?

PM_ME_FORNAX 1 point on 2017-01-23 06:03:37

Using the app resulted in this, however a browser seems to work just fine. Apparently reddit kinda hates my phone. Thanks for the assist.

Oh, yeah, the reddit app is kinda hit or miss sometimes. I never use it, personally. Glad I could be of assistance.
