Hey, I'm a zoophile too! (self.zoophilia)
submitted 2017-01-25 21:24:31 by skunkwitch

So I was looking into autozoophilia, and found this subreddit! So yeah... I'm sexually attracted to animals. Mostly dogs, but I am also attracted to skunks. I know that is weird, but I can't help it. So yeah, what else is there to say... ummm... I'm a transgender MTF who's into bdsm, but not zoosadism. I would never hurt an animal. I prefer stuff being done to me. I guess I'm also into autozophilia, where I enjoy being the animal. It sorta goes into the bdsm aspect where I like being tied up, collared, eat dog food, and put in a kennel. Ummmmm.... not sure what else to say. Does anyone have any questions for me? I'd be willing to answer anything :)

Welcome. I enjoy autozoophilia too, though in my case it developed out of zoophilia (thanks Internet!).

skunkwitch 1 point on 2017-01-25 22:30:40

Yeah I started with autozoophilia and it morphed into zoophilia

dogdamour 2 points on 2017-01-25 22:37:30

Someone will be along shortly to flame you for using the word "zoophilia" without refernce to their personal definition. Please disregard, stick around the forum and make some friends :)

ummm okay lol how do i make friends tho? XD

Being semi-active, mostly. We're not picky so long as you don't tread on any snakes. Just to be sure, do you feel emotional attraction to animals/want to have a romantic relationship with one? Or is it more sexual? Lots of the people here interpret zoophilia as more of an orientation, with romance and sexuality bundled together. Translating from greek, zoophilia is "love of animals"; the philia also being interpret-able as 'friendship' or 'affection'.

skunkwitch 1 point on 2017-01-26 20:15:07

Honestly... I have no clue :) I am attracted to animals yes, but as for being in a relationship with one maybe. In an ideal world where animals could talk and we'd actually be able to understand one another then sure. But in our world, I can't see such a thing happening sadly. As for zoophilia as an orientation, I'd say yes to that as well. I'm bisexual with a preference towards females. But I swing either way when it comes to animals.

Could someone explain to me where the difference is between "autozoophilia" ( I´d rather imagine fucking a VW beetle by hearing this word) and what "normal" people would call pet play?

[deleted] 4 points on 2017-01-25 23:59:40

Auto. Greek root. Means self.

Zoo. Greek root. Means animal.

Philia. Greek root. Means love.

roughly, he's into being an animal in the act of love. It fits. It's even consistently greek. ;)

To answer your other question, I don't think there is a difference. Two words for the same thing.

30-30 amator equae -2 points on 2017-01-26 00:11:08

Another example of "let´s call everything zoophilia". Being attracted to humans should be anthropozoophilia, then.

And the zoophiles have to call themselves zoo-zoophiles from now on...to emphasize that they´re really sleeping with animals, right?.... sigh

P.S.: You trying to lecture me in Greek is...well, like you trying to lecture me on zoophilia...I´ve had more of both than you by far...;) Plus, I never asked for word analysis, but for an explanation of the difference between this and pet play.

[deleted] 2 points on 2017-01-26 04:19:41

You trying to lecture me in Greek is...well, like you trying to lecture me on zoophilia..

I wasn't trying to lecture you on anything, but if you seriously thought "auto" meant "car" in this context, you needed it. And thanks, I always appreciate knowing I do as well at it as I do in our zoo lectures. :)

for an explanation of the difference between this and pet play.

I covered that as well.

Another example of "let´s call everything zoophilia". Being attracted to humans should be anthropozoophilia, then.

No because greek roots are derived from ancient greek linguistics and culture, so "zoo" correctly interpreted in the way an ancient greek thinks would be "non-human animal." They didn't have modern biology to correct them.

Please stop pretending you know more about this than me. It's ok you know lots about zoo history, this is kinda something I know stuff about.

Rannoch, I learned Greek in school. "to zoon ", the Greek word for is used mostly for domesticated animals, wild animals would be referred to as "to therion". Same as in English "animal" and "beast". Surely not in a scientific sense, but in everyday use.

[deleted] 1 point on 2017-01-26 06:14:03

Interesting. Thanks. I didn't learn full greek in school but greek and latin roots were part of our daily curriculum and to this day, I try to keep up on it. I do know enough to know those aren't the roots but the words themselves ("to therion" I'm guessing would be truncated in root form to "ther")

I'm unsure what that distinction has to do with my point, but I welcome the opportunity to learn.

I still maintain humans aren't applicable here (even though they might be a "sort of" domesticated animal ala slavery in the ancient world), but have no desire to debate it further.

skunkwitch 3 points on 2017-01-26 01:56:08

I don't know why but I am crying of joy someone is actually fighting for me being a woman. Means so much hugs

[deleted] 4 points on 2017-01-26 04:16:57

For whatever it's worth, I'm sorry for the mistake on my part, even if it was a finger slip up.

I'm glad a feeling of joy resulted in the end somehow though, you should always be proud of who you are. :)

Swibblestein 2 points on 2017-01-26 08:57:22

I like seeing pleasant exchanges and apologies and the like on the Internet. Gives me hope.

BurnedRowan big ol' pupper 2 points on 2017-01-27 01:15:17

I've been in far too many zoo communities where people had little to no regard for others' identities. I now make it a point to address this kind of stuff, and I'm glad that it was met with an apology rather than an excuse or belligerence.

I'm glad to see that a lot of people in this community seem to actually care.

skunkwitch 3 points on 2017-01-26 20:19:13

Yay, actual people on the internet who are making me proud to be who I am :)

[deleted] 3 points on 2017-01-26 04:15:24

I blame my mobile phone being diffilcult to type on, as I actually noted this but failed to type it somehow. "s" section of my screen must've had french fry grease on it as I was typing it from Jack in the Box, lol.

There, now I'm embarrassed too.

Kynophile Dog lover 1 point on 2017-01-26 02:37:58

Basically, it's a fancy word for people who are into puppy play. Dressing and/or acting as an animal, for sexual and/or emotional gratification.

Throwawayz11235 Beasty Pride! 2 points on 2017-01-26 07:34:39

Autozoophilia-- sexual excitation from visualizing yourself as an animal.

Pet play-- a BDSM practice associated with sexual excitation from being treated as an animal.

I'm not an expert on it, but in general, pet play seems to be a bit of a submission/dominance thing, with the power and control aspects. The pet is being controlled and forced to do degrading "pet" things, and I guess both partners get pleasure from that. Autozoophilia seems to have less to do with degradation, power, and control, and is more of a personal activity instead of something that is done with someone else. I would guess it's a little more associated with the furry community, as opposed to BDSM.

The term autozoophilia appears to be derived from autogynephilia, a controversial term that was used to separate MTF trans people by their sexualities. In essence, Blanchard described androphilic MTFs desiring to transition due to being extremely effeminate, whereas autogynephilic and gynephilic MTFs desired to transition due to being sexually attracted to the image of themselves as female. The theory is considered offensive nowadays.

autozoophilia?

actuallynotazoophile ok, I lied 5 points on 2017-01-26 07:29:20

its when you have sex with a car that identifies as an animal.

[deleted] 3 points on 2017-01-26 07:43:35

Or an animal that identifies as a car?

Sorry... I just love wordplay. I'm seriously not mocking anyone.

Why not both at the same time?

Battlecrops cat kisser extraordinaire 3 points on 2017-01-26 03:01:15

I don't know how you are, /u/skunkwitch, but for me there is actually a distinction between autozophilia (which is actually a word used in psych circles when discussing kinks/fetishes, not just people hopping on the "zoophilia term bandwagon") and pet play. I'm into both, and for me pet play is more about being treated as an animal, like you describe. But my autozophilic fantasies involve me actually physically being an animal, which pet play doesn't always involve for me. For example, most of my autozophilic fantasies involve me being a dog. I'm very attracted to dogs physically as well as romantically; I love the physical form of dogs and how they behave, and imagining myself as an actual physical dog doing sexual things is one of my main fantasies. Pet play/animal roleplay for me is more about how I'm treated by another person, while autozophilia is "what if I was a literal physical dog." It's independent of my interactions with other people.

Hope that makes sense.

skunkwitch 1 point on 2017-01-26 20:08:31

It makes perfects sense :) I may be into bdsm as well as pet play (mostly puppy play), but autozoophilia to me means "being sexually aroused by the thought of me being an animal." I can concur that me being a dog is one of my main fantasies, as well as a skunk but yeah I'm weird lol. The way you described the difference between the two is how I do as well. I am attracted to both humans and animals, mostly animals, but it's only humans I am into pet play with. Since once again, I do not like zoosadism. The idea of me being a sub turns me on, and if I somehow can get an animal to be a dom then I'll be very happy. But never will I force an animal to do things to me, or will I force it on any animal.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't know what autozoophilia was until now.
I wonder, are you an 'autozoophile' if you want to be an animal and do zoo stuff to an animal?

skunkwitch 2 points on 2017-01-26 20:17:26

I'm both an autozoophile and a zoophile imo. Not only do I want to be an animal, I want to have sex with them as well. One of my main fantasies involves me as an animal having sex with a dog/skunk. So I am not only attracted to animals but also attracted to being one as well.

WarCanine Love knows no boundaries between species or gender 1 point on 2017-01-26 20:28:22

Well, if my question is true then I also am an autozoophile.
Though, I don't RP or would like to RP as an animal, I'd actually want to be a canid.
So I guess I don't act on it, really.

No wonder people don't really see zoophilia as a legit orientation.
Look at all these strange and random words we've made!
How am I going to explain that I am an exclusive-auto-faunoi-canid-bi-zoophile? Lmao.
