What animals do you find unattractive? (self.zoophilia)

This thread isn't meant to disrespect these animals, it's because it's interesting to know what you all find unattractive.
I find cats, pigs, cows, monkeys, and all birds unattractive.
And, well, humans too of course.
There's probably more animals out there that I find unattractive but I'm more curious about what you people think.

For interest, I'll stick to canines and the traits that can be turnoffs. I hate a squashed in face like a bulldog's, as well as obvious hip and walking problems. Such animals are sad rather than appealing. Also, I don't like especially long or difficult to groom hair, or very long greyhound style noses.

Same here. It looks... weird.
I like long haired dogs a lot though.
Not something like an Afghan Hound but rather something like a Belgian Shepherd.

Well, that is kind of an unlimited listing request, but I'll just say I don't like pigs, personally (with apologies to those who like them).

I just really do not like the smell, and I do mean the smell of clean pigs.

tencendur_ Neeeigh 2 points on 2017-03-19 23:12:41

Sad to hear, since pigs can be really friendly and fun to have around, if you don't mind the smell. I have heard of adopted boars that were deeply loved by the children of certain village because he was always willing to play or follow the kids around.

zoo_away 1 point on 2017-03-20 06:23:27

It merely doesn't combine with my innate sense of smell, sorry.

Cats, and birds.

Of course, I can't really attest to the attractiveness or unattractiveness of certain nonhuman animals, but I can say what I find to be ugly, I suppose.

Persian cats with flat faces; they look like they're permanently scowling, their proportions are slightly off, and that's before getting into the 'genetic abomination' aspects of it. I also find bulldogs, and weiner dogs... Maybe not ugly, but their health issues loom in my mind when I see them. Most primates are pretty ugly for me, Chimps and apes have this characteristic leathery skin and somewhat sparse and coarse hairs which are a bit offputting. Alot of hairless mammals are pretty nasty too, cept for humans of course.

That said, I don't approach ugly animals and differently than not-ugly ones.

Susitar Canidae 2 points on 2017-03-20 12:36:13

Well, I am only interested in canines and humans. But of course, among dogs, there are a lot of unattractive ones as well! I agree with Kynophile that squashed in faces (brachycephalic breeds) are not attractive. Neither do I like extremely loose lips that drool a lot, like in Great Danes and Bloodhounds.

Personality-wise, I do not like childish and overly extroverted dogs. The dogs that run up to every stranger to be petted, but would never survive a day on their own, are not dogs I find attractive.

Cuba5555 1 point on 2017-03-20 14:02:53

It'll be easier to type in what I do find attractive. Canines, birds, horses, deers, reptiles

Everything else I don't find attractive especially any cats I hate them.

ursusem 2 points on 2017-03-21 06:05:02

I'll never understand how anyone could ever hate a cat. That's terrible! I feel they are often very nice beings but I don't feel very good about a certain other kind of creature so I guess we're all different.

Cuba5555 1 point on 2017-03-21 08:05:55

I'll never understand why people like cats. They are horrible animals.

ursusem 1 point on 2017-03-21 08:40:32

What makes them horrible? Have you ever interacted with a cat before? They are really pretty creatures. (I'm a girl, by the way. We tend to like pretty things from an early age.... I was enthralled by cats! <3 <3)

Cuba5555 1 point on 2017-03-21 08:50:58

When I was younger I liked cats but after having them I grew to dislike them. They are annoying and don't like their attitudes. I don't see how they are pretty at all either. They look ugly as hell.

ursusem 2 points on 2017-03-21 09:18:14

I disagree. But it's like I was born to like them. Everything about them is charming to me.

Swibblestein 1 point on 2017-03-20 21:35:09

From a sexual attraction standpoint, most animals are unattractive. The list that is attractive is pretty small, relatively speaking.

From a platonic attraction standpoint, most animals look fine as they are. I guess elephants look kind of ugly, as far as mammals go.

ursusem 1 point on 2017-03-21 06:02:21

If you feel that most animals are unattractive according to the non-platonic attraction standpoint, what would you say actually is attractive to you in that way? Like what features etc.

Swibblestein 1 point on 2017-03-21 06:35:19

There are a lot of factors, and some of them aren't absolute, but...

Well, first off, I do want to mention that personality and behavior are important to me, but right now I'm talking just about physical features. I don't want the exclusion of personality related stuff to be construed as me not valuing it, but as me considering it a rather separate subject altogether.

I mean, I tend to focus a lot on faces. I like faces with a certain structure to them - with a muzzle that's not flat, but more elongated, with a sloping, generally smaller forehead (though not as flat as you see on, say, horses). Some width difference between the cheeks / face and the muzzle itself, but not a huge difference.

Some animals with this sort of face include many canine breeds, flying foxes, some sorts of sea lions, deer, kangaroos... Not all of those I find attractive, mind you, but that gives something of an idea of the general shape I find most attractive.

Horse faces are boxy to me. Bear faces are close, but the rest of their face compared to their muzzle is too wide - they can be somewhat appealing in their own right, sure, but they aren't what stands out to me as attractive. Cats faces are too flat, and breeds like chihuahuas have ridiculously disproportionate foreheads (well, some anyway - others look more normal).

Beyond that, body-wise I'm not actually that too terribly picky, though I really don't find any "small" species attractive. There are various reasons for that, and they are a bit complicated to go into, but the end result is larger species are more attractive. At some point the attractiveness tends to taper off, because larger species get more bulky and odd looking, but I'll nonetheless find a very large creature more attractive than a very small one, all else being equal.

I like fur. Bare skin is not particularly appealing. On the topic of fur, I tend to like solid, mottled, or salt-and-pepper colored sorts of fur more than patterned fur (like stripes or spots). I also tend to like longer, softer fur, even though that's a pain to take care of and groom.

Oddly, I rather like the look of various types of feet - paws, some sorts of hooves (especially the cloven variety), and so on, though I would definitely not classify myself as having any sort of foot fetish - far to the opposite extreme, in fact. There isn't really a pattern here that I can deduce, except that perhaps I tend to like "delicate" looking legs more than thicker legs and feet.

Humans have the worst feet though. I genuinely have trouble understanding how anyone can find those monstrosities attractive, but I suppose, to each their own.

Overall body shape is, perhaps surprisingly, not really a factor at all.

I'll try to keep this next one somewhat devoid of details, but I'm trying to be as thorough and honest as possible, so it at least deserves a mention... I do have preferences when it comes to how "what's betwixt the legs" looks, but that isn't really a high priority one way or another.

Let's see here... That's all I can think of right now. I tried to answer your question as best I could, but if you have any clarifying questions I could answer those as well. Does that give you a pretty clear picture though?

substallion לשלוט בי, הסוס שלי 1 point on 2017-03-21 06:15:28

Human would be top contender, followed by their "less evolved" cousins.

altoids1989 zoo-exclusive 1 point on 2017-03-22 01:54:31

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but something I have come to appreciate is my expanding attraction to many different species. Even though most just remain fantasies, and I would not be attracted to them in person, it's still eye opening to try to find attractive traits in species that I had no interest in before. The only thing I limit my attraction towards are smaller animals... I suppose I find them too adorable to sexualize. 10 years ago I was only attracted to dogs and horses, now I have expanded my attraction to many types of animals, even though I would not want to have sex with them given a chance.

For example, I was never really attracted to bears before. But recently, after watching bear mating videos more intently, I find their stamina and the way they mate to be very attractive. I appreciate the musculature and ejaculation potential of Boars. Oddly enough humans fall into this category as well. I enjoy watching people having sex even though I have no desire to have sex with another human myself. There are many other examples.

So I guess the short answer to OP's question is any animal under 50lbs.

Darkspirit5 1 point on 2017-03-23 07:42:28

I don't have any romantic feelings toward anything that is not a mammal. Small animals, like housecats or rodents, are also unattractive. For dogs, it has to be a medium size or larger. Horses are attractive no matter the size, but the larger breeds are obviously preferable.

StarliteMagnificent Horse Nut 1 point on 2017-03-27 20:33:06

I think this should have been worded as. . . What animals do you find attractive? At least in my case. It is much easier to list that then the thousands of animals on this planet that I do not find attractive!

So assuming you mean attractive as in pleasant to look at?

First and Foremost. All Equines. Then Dolphins, Deer, Moose, Elk, Giraffe, Gazelle, Goats. Shaved Humans, oddly enough do not like body hair on a human. . go figure. . .

WarCanine Love knows no boundaries between species or gender-Mᴬᴰᴬᴿᴬᴼ 1 point on 2017-03-27 20:56:31

Well that question has probably been asked a thousand times so I was more curious about what other zoos found unattractive.

I actually meant unattractive as in ugly, turn offs or very uninteresting animals.

Even though I have zero attraction towards humans, I think humans with more hair are... ehm... less ugly looking? Sometimes.
Makes sense, as I am attracted to furry and hairy beings.

StarliteMagnificent Horse Nut 1 point on 2017-03-27 21:03:31

Hmm. Well if I have to think about it on terms of something I find very ugly. . . Well I guess. . Pigs, Monkeys, Apes, and Hippopotamuses are really the only things that stand out right off hand.

Predators. I get why people like them, and i dont have any real logical problems with predation, but i just dont like them.

Funny enough, for me it adds extra attractiveness to canids.
So they can be cute and cool at the same time.

thelongestusernameee lurklurklurk all day long, lurklurklurk while i sing this song 1 point on 2017-04-04 00:05:54

I just dont understand what makes killing cool. I know its nature, and our opinions wont change what has to happen, but can you at least try to explain the appeal behind it?

WarCanine Love knows no boundaries between species or gender-Mᴬᴰᴬᴿᴬᴼ 1 point on 2017-04-04 00:21:45

Well, it's that they're mighty and strong by hunting down other animals. It just feels nice to be around such beasts because they feel so mighty, yet they don't just attack us.
It's hard to explain, you see.
It's kind of like how things are cute or scary. It's just something in our minds.
And I guess it may also be a part of our attraction. Because you know, I don't find predators specifically attractive, only canids.
And attractions are always a little hard to explain, just like how I can't really explain why I think this.

That's unexpected. They're the most popular for zoos.

CognitivelyDissed a sapient animal 1 point on 2017-04-05 16:45:35

I know. Somehow, I feel this universal domestication may be what makes them less attractive to me. And the position of pets and various cultural aspects tied to it tends to make me perceive dogs/cats as children.

Many humans more or less baby-talk to all animal species they like. I tend to do the same to pets, but not to wild squirrels or spiders. Not because I like them less, but because they feel more like responsible self-sustainable adults to me.
