Depends on what you mean by unusual? I own ball pythons, they're gaining popularity in the pet world but lots of folks still think of snakes as unusual pets lol. My oldest one is about five feet long, the biggest her species usually gets. I love them as pets, very chill, love being handled and come in a lot of beautiful colors/morphs.

I am attracted to snakes but I wouldn't do anything sexual with one, since their anatomy is so different and also delicate. Also unsure of reptiles' ability to consent.

If you build a good relationship with some bigger snakes (I'm thinking BCI or such) they're basically like a puppy

I second Battlecrops, what do you mean with "unusual" ?

im asking that myself tbh, i didnt realize just how blurry that line was. I guess anything you wouldnt find in a decent petstore. so snakes, lizards, and rats wouldnt be unusual, while skunks, some insects, wolves, would be.

I guess 'exotic' is the word you're looking for.
By the way, snakes, lizards, rats, etc. could still be considered exotic depending on the kind.

it fits better, but doesnt exotic mean from a foreign country?

Nah, in the animal world "exotic" usually means anything not a cat, dog, or common livestock animal. Like there are exotic vet clinics for example, that treat birds, reptiles, fish, non-traditional pet mammals (sugar gliders, possums, foxes, what have you). On the extreme end of the scale big cats and wild canids are considered exotic animals as well.

i guess it does work then

''Exotic'' has different definitions.
In the case of animals, it's just any unusual animal, ones you have rarely as a pet, or just feral animals.

"Unusual" can also depend on country.

What is unusual in Europe can be usual in North America. And vice-versa.

Exotic is the term you are looking for.

I have some mild experience with interacting with whitetails both in a standard fashion, and to a light degree, sexually. It was a long time ago. I won't mention the sexual bits for various reasons, but whitetails are very "fight or flight" creatures and if presented with something new, they usually default to that routine. Getting them to try something new is impossible unless they are very trusting of you, and even then, you must depend on their natural curiosity, which does exist and if not afraid, can be very strong. If they like what they get out of the new experience, they won't hesitate to try it again.

That's about all I can say without going to deep into emotional stuff I don't want to do right now.

The most "exotic" animal that I have ever been with was a wolf. I have no faith at all in his advertised parentage but I ended up with him because he thought he was a wolf and as such was far more than his previous suburbanite owner could handle.

Physically he was just another canine. A large one for sure but built along the same lines as any large dog. Mentally he was a completely different subject. He didn't do "No!" or leash and his concept of property was "I have it therefor it is mine".

Sexually he was a very passionate lover . . . in the late fall. The rest of the year he just wasn't interested. He liked to chase me and take me by force when we did our thing.

So I'm assuming ''been with'' doesn't just refer to ''had a relationship with''? Well I guess it's worth sharing anyways.
I have been with wolves and foxes once. They were just like I expected them to be.
One of the wolves really loved when I scratched his back.
They were really nice, beautiful and attractive. When that wolfess laid down on her back I couldn't resist looking at her special parts. Didn't see much, but saw just a second of that (Y).
They were also pretty careful. You could close your hand while you had meat in it and they'd try to lick or very gently try to bite it out. Even my own girl is more rougher than that.
They also had tons of cats, some wolfdogs and a few horses.
As for the foxes, they were at some kind of exotic animal convention where they sold them.
I always expected a really bad smell, but turned out I really didn't care and like fox smell.
Felt pretty bad for them because they were really young, some of the pups were definitely too young to be seperated from their mom. I'm pretty sure those weren't being sold, except the older kits which looked old enough to be seperated from their mom.
I got to hold the youngest ones ones though. They were all stunning reds and silvers.
I always thought having foxes as pets was illegal in my country, but the police said it wasn't, apparently.
Not so fun fact: Meeting these creatures was something I really wanted in life. They were one of the very few wishes that actually came true.

I've known a few zebras over the years. They're pretty cool critters once you get past their instinctual quirks. Definitely don't want to get on their bad side, but they're very sweet once they get to know and trust you.
