Even if it were true, that's a remarkably poor newspaper article.

A Thessaloniki prosecutor

Who?

found an animal welfare group operating in northern Greece guilty

When? Where? Which group?

of trafficking animals for the purposes of bestiality and animal experiments.

What was the evidence?

The strays, collected from around Greece, either ended up dying at the hands of sexual perverts or were used in experiments. Lawyer Katerina Tzoli sued an officer

Who is this person that is sued?

If they have any evidence for dogs dying at the hands of sexual perverts, is it known who these perverts are? Are they sued in their countries or did she notify law enforcement in their countries?

who she blames for turning a blind eye when examining animal travel documents.

What was the evidence for that?

“Over 600 dogs have traveled over the last four years from around the wider area of Thessaloniki, and another 400 from the rest of Greece,” she says, pointing to operations around Serres, Volo and Drama.

Which "operations"?

Specifically, a German couple collected strays from neighborhoods and dog shelters, promising that they would be adopted by families.

Is it known who they were? Did anyone ever require any sort of identification or did they just come by and say "we are nobody special and would like to take as many strays as you would give us"?

“There’s even a special site that shows photographs of dogs with families in northern Europe aimed at giving an air of legitimacy to the operations.

Where is this website?

The photos, however, are far from the grim reality with the helpless animals ending up in dark hotel rooms

That is - again - very specific. How do they know that?

Is there anything like a court case where people can look

  • whether this actually did happen?
  • what was actually happening there?

This article is so short, yet raises so many questions and answers so few of them.

http://www.chaniapost.eu/?p=15425 there is this article reposted, but with facebook comments. Surprisingly, so far they are mostly critical of the story.

You cut out the best part of the quote:

The photos, however, are far from the grim reality with the helpless animals ending up in dark hotel rooms to satisfy the sick tastes of zoophiles

Isn't that poignant? I'm sorry, what was it you were saying?

Wild allegation, no evidence of them whatsoever. That's what he was saying.

Could this https://it.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/amantideicani/conversations/messages/1101 be the origin of this unlikely rehash. It is in Greece, is about a local animal shelter amd atrocious conditions for animals. I found it by googling the name of the lawyer. If anyone could add this to the facebook comments, it would be appreciated.

I don't know but it's definitely a rehash, same as Romania the month before: https://www.reddit.com/r/zoophilia/comments/2whffs/activist_stray_dogs_exported_for_use_in/cp5m9b9

There it looks like a dispute between public shelters and animal welfare groups (private shelters), more so than a jab at zoophilia. Maybe it's similar in Greece.

Obviously an anti-zoo agenda here.

..."sick taste of zoophiles... " sounds like someone is more interested in pushing opinions instead of providing details and real numbers. The article also smells of half-truths.

Animal trafficking is horrible, but let's not get crazy and assume all zoos support this activity. The bigotry is ridiculous.

It's not clear it's even about zoophiles. Maybe they're using bestiality to make someone else look bad.

Same thing in Romania in January:

http://www.savethedogs.eu/comunicato-stampa/lang-pref/en/

During a press conference Razvan Bancescu, the director of ASPA, the Authority responsible for strays management in Bucharest, declared that 90% of the dogs leaving Romania to be adopted abroad would actually be destined to vivisection laboratories and a “network of brothels” for bestiality practices. Bancescu showed appalling photos that are supposed to be taken in European countries where the dogs would be sexually exploited.

This is yet another attack by Bancescu to animal welfare organizations, which in several occasions reported ASPA’s criminal methods and the atrocities performed by its employees within the public kennels of the capital, where at least 5,000 dogs are being locked up awaiting for death.

90% of dogs did would leave Romania for adoption would be used for purposes other than Those Stated by NGOs, Said Bancescu, who Claimed to have evidence in this regard and did prosecutors presented them. Dogs Should be used for the experiments, that but for bestiality. To support his ideas, Bancescu designed During the press conference a number of pornographic images bestiality, the dogs werewolf Subjected to acts: such as anal sex, oral or masturbation. Photos of the Internet came from similar sites.

Razvan Bancescu, the Koordiantor of the program of the Authority for the supervision and protection of animals has, on Thursday said at a press conference that the majority of dogs originated in animal porn industry from Romania and Bulgaria. There would be special for zoophilia brothels in Germany and Denmark, where the dogs were taken to.
