German with English Subs. "The Zoophile community has shown a greater degree of ethical reflection and a more active dispute concerning the ethical implications of their paraphilia than the community of any other I know."

I hadn't seen this video when it was first posted to youtube and I don't recall it being on reddit.

It was on reddit two months ago. The person giving the presentation was most likely the same user who made a post in this sub asking the users to fill out their survey. The results from the survey can be found here.

Anyway, if the only places they posted was in the specific subreddits their user history showed (e.g. /r/zoophilia, /r/eroticdeath, /r/CuteFemaleCorpses, /r/PicsofDeadKids, etc.), then that sentence you quoted from them would make sense, as they didn't reach significant and ethical necrophile communities or pedophile communities.

I'm not entirely sure such communities exist, but I'm open to being proven wrong...

My girlfriend talked with amazement, about a year ago, about a person calling themselves "Adam" who was attracted to minors, and who was doing their upmost to encourage everyone alike themselves to avoid acting on their desires, to avoid even looking at such porn. No idea how common such people are though, they are just one person out of who knows how many who do act on their desires.

I think this article published by Matter about a year ago is what you're referring to. It's a long read but very good and comprehensive, especially for a much maligned phenomenon.

It's more than likely that the pedophiles you hear about sexually abusing children make up a small minority of actual pedophiles, similar to how the adult rapists you hear about make up a minority of people attracted to adults. Part of it is because much of the data on pedophilia and child sexual abuse come from those who were in prison or mental health institutions, which is not going to give you an accurate representation of what the average person attracted to children is like. This analysis goes into more detail about the issues with finding out how many pedophiles actually do molest kids. The good news is that this is changing as more research is being done to help pedophiles not act on their attraction and figure out the causes of child sexual abuse.

That depends on what you identify as "significant and ethical." There are hardly any necrophile communities out there and it's much more debatable (among the mainstream public) whether engaging in sexual activity with a corpse is unethical or not. However, I've spent a lot of time in various pedophile communities and the (reddit) zoophile community in addition to the limited necrophile community I've found on the psych forums and the pedophile community is the only paraphilic group I've seen that strongly advocates for not acting on their own attractions. That is precisely why there is such a large push on distinguishing between attraction and action or (i.e. pedophile and child molester), whereas distinguishing between attraction and action doesn't seem to a big deal in this subreddit and the limited necrophile groups I've seen.

As for the specific groups that exist, among pedophile communities, there's B4U-ACT which is a non-profit trying to bridge the lack of resources in the mental health community for people attracted to minors, Virtuous Pedophiles which provides support for pedophiles to not act on their attractions to children, and the paraphilias subsection of the psych forums. The only place I've seen a significant amount of necrophiles gather is on the psych forums, many of whom are in this thread.

Thanks, I did look at the way back machine but didn't find anything. For some reason I had them pegs as a californian... so didn't associate them with a german student.
